Dear Pak wheelers
Restoring the old machines is my hobby.
So far I have restored many Jeeps like 1942 Willys, CJ-5, Dihutsu Rocky,Willys 1952, Suzuki Jeep 1985 (Long wheel base).
But few days back once i was searching tools from my back yar store...I saw my 1985 Kawasaki GTO 110....with lots of dust on it..oil was leaked and every hwere on the floor....rusty, broken head light, no tail light, and both side tapa (batter cover area) were gone. The side oil bottle was also broken.
My father purchased this bike for my elder brother (whom is a col in army now) at the time of his passing out celebration.
Than in 1992 my brother gave this bike to me upon passing matric exams.
This was my first motor bike, although down the line I puchased a new Kawasaki GTO-125 (1993) last model & ride it till my masters in year 2000.And later sold that GTO125 as it got accidented by my couzine.
But we kept this GTO-110 till date.So I decided to restore my 1st love again.I am 34 now & father of 2 beautiful sons.My nephew (son of my elder brother) is 16 now & I am restoring this bike for him.Bike is still in his fathers name (the 1st owner).
After taking bike to the Raique Mechanic (AKA Feeqa) the real effort starts.Collection of spares was a big problem as production of 2 stroke Kawasaki was stopped since 1993.
But I managed to get all original Japanese parts from different shops, persons, fellow Pak wheelers & for few body parts like Side covers, steering (handle rod) spokes I use new SKM Kawasaki parts.
I have altered the engine..now its with a GTO-125 head clyinder
Magnet coil set swaped with the GTO-125 CDI coil technology
The entire bike was spread into pieces & now I am buliding it piece by piece.
Today we received frame, tank, side covers & all other parts from painter.Chrooming also done on all silver parts like silencer, band, rims,...Inshallah it will look like as sexy as it was in 1986
Few things I purchased 2nd hand Japanese as new one were not available
1-Head Cylinder (used) with 0 piston size Rs:10K
2-Maget Coil (Cdi set) Gto 125 for Rs:4500
3-New gear + clutch box (complete) of Gto-125 as the previous 1 was 4fwd now it got a 5 speed gear box.
4-New connecting rod with GTO 125 Weight.
5-New front & rare Mud guards.
6-New indicators
7-New parking stand.
8-Speedo meter (only changed the outer cover) as original from inside.
9-New Silence Buffle (silencer is already original Japanese)
10-Each & every bolt of this bike is Japanese & chromed again to give them a new life.
Well all the stuff is in mechanics shop & tomorrow assembling will be started.
Wish me luck to restore this beauty again for my nephew. And I am sure it will be much faster now due to new modifications.
I would also like to share that I upgraded the 110 engine to 125 as head clyinder of 110 is not at all available in the market.More over the previous point technology gave problems like plug shortage at high speeds.
I hope you all will in-courage my effort.
Will upload the pictures tomorrow Inshallah
