The seat frame itself would be OK, the springs would be broken - they can be easily repaired - get new hair pads for the seats. It gives that original cool seat that MB had, foam ones would cook you in about 5 minutes.

The welds are pretty ham handed at best. Anyway, better than rust - and I see this car is missing some rubber body plugs. I have a list of part nos for these plugs that you can buy from MB.

I posted the recipe for self made body wax treatment on the vintage forum - its sprayed inside of the body cavities to prevent rusting. That tubular area you just welded will rust from inside out if not treated soon.

btw - you can buy the original exhaust tailpipe diffuser from Karachi spare parts shops.

What should be the objective when spraying inside a cavity? fill it up? or reach the corners or what?

why are you making the concontion in plain view - hide the stuff..

btw the wax is not filled like pouring it but sprayed so it coats the metal everywhere. Your vehicle originally came with it.

Incidentally, my nana also has a Merc almost the same age (1979) and white in color. That you have been gifted is special to begin with. Rest that follows is left hand and more over, a sunroof. I mean, think of it guys....such an old vehicle and has such a roof. DaMn! The doors' upholstery appears to be in good condition.

thank u Vajih bhai..and yes the interior condition is pretty good..rest it is a very rare version (i.e 240 D...3.0).i mean 220's, 200's and simple 240's r there but this 3 liter one is pretty hard to find...

They were way ahead in time, if you take a look at a 600 pullman limousine of this same vintage, it will literally blow your mind.

No bro no mud at all on both sides..the other fender was off to later on but i forgot to take its pic..

So that means the plastic coated steel protective plates were in place.. good.

btw I see that there is no original glue remains where the fender came off, originally they were glued with some sort of urethane and then bolted to the car, It was done to water proof them so they dont rust out from the edges.

its heavily raining in your area these days cover the scrapped metal with coat of fresh oil at end of day.

yeah a litl bit of glue was there..i'll get sum alternate glue before bolting them again
