so guys the work has picked up speed now..Right side is complete, trunk lid is done, left doors are done. now working on the rear end and rear left side..hopefully the denting work will be done within a week..:).here are sum pics:

visited the dealership in LHR to inquire on the hair pad stuffing used in these models; it came as no surprise when they did not have the slightest clue on what was being asked! any product id's that you may know off and hence could be provided to the geniuses at the dealership?

with respect to the seat repair work you pointed out a little while back, how exactly is one too fix a broken spring. a little more insight would be helpful in order to aid the hired help.

.. My estimate is that you are spending at least Rs 200,000/-
.. Are you thinking on a color change .. though it is not recommended in repainting for many reasons; mainly the resale aspect but i think when the vehicle is a unique one, you can always uplift the outlook with a change in color ( or may be use a combination of colors) .. just a thought

why are you making the concontion in plain view - hide the stuff..

btw the wax is not filled like pouring it but sprayed so it coats the metal everywhere. Your vehicle originally came with it.

Thanks alot..:)...the progress is goin fine..denting will b done in a day or two but paint work will nt start in the rainy days..just waiting fr the weather to b a lil more dry.

Thank u so much bro..:)..yes surely i will share all the expenditure with u guys..i've ordered some parts of this car from peshawar, let them arrive and let me get the mechanical work done..then i will share all the expenditure..and just a rough estimate..yes bro 2 lakh min will be spent..And as for the color change, i will keep it in its original color that is off white, I won't sell this car but i want it as original as possible..:)..thanks alot fr ur suggestions..wish me luck..

I would recommend you get the car painted at shahnawaz, if you intend on keeping it for a long time. I can relate to your restoration for I carried out one as well on a W123.
Though be prepared to dish out an arm and a leg for the paint job, should you go through them; but i can assure you the end result is pretty damn good compared to the outcome received via the mom pop shops around town.

hmm..well my painter is one of the best in rawalpindi and islamabad..he has a pretty good hand..Inshallah you won't b disappointed by the paint job. Although shahnawaz guys are awsum but they charge a pretty handsome amount..and already am going over 2 lakh..so..

The outcome of a proper body work job and mom/pop has one thing in common - which is the "spent" amount. A shop which does proper body work with mig welders and paints the proper way will charge about the same as Shahnawaz Ltd would. Little points like humidity control, spray pressure and technique goes a long way.

@kiki, before handing it over for paint work, make sure that you can lift the car from its original jack points, As you have had serious welding done there - it would be very sad if the body starts to buckle at that point. Correct it now. Did your denter spray some body cavity wax inside the lower panels he just welded on.

The problem starts with rust forming on the welds itself from the insides where you cannot see, Ideally you use a weld through primer that seals the welds but you were using oxyacet gas to weld, which wont be compatible.

not to rain, but the amount of surface rusting showing up - I would have personally applied it if it were my car. Now you have got a giant buffing job ahead to clean the rust off.

the seat pad part no. comes up as A12339102650 for a US 123 300D - this part no. is to be used with the mbtex material. I cannot seem to find a price for it though. The later cars had the orange foam on the seat bottom while the earlier cars had the rubberised horsehair pads on the bottoms.

To repair the spring box, you would need to use some scrapped diesel injection lines and drill them to slip them over the broken springs so they become one piece again. MB also have an upgraded pad (green in colour) and also corner supports and centre tubes to assist the old seats.

How come the MB dealerships couldnt get it, next time give them the full VIN and ask that you want to see the screen. Its in plain view if you look at the front seat diagram, on the 123.130 model the callout no. from the pictogram was 17.

yes he did spray the body cavaity wax..nd ok tmrw ill go and jack up the car and see my self..
