Sir if u dnt mind can u tell from where r u doing ur vehicle work? I want to pay a visit coz i need some gud denter for my car lock system's etc..

What is the price of this Kabli steering assembly and from where you have bought it?

Got it for 5500 PKR.
I know the price is a bit higher from the market but this piece was in excellent condition and I didnt want to leave it.

The steel putty has been applied and the paint job will start in 2~3 days time.
I had a chat with the painter and he told me that he will use 2k paint.
I inquired about the 2k thing but he was unable to explain it.
Can anyone explain me what is this 2k paint?
Is it some grade or colour code etc?

I guess the price of steering assembly is OK, because Khyber's Kabli parts are getting scarce and hence expensive. Secondly I think your old steering assembly was not in a good condition for a trade in.

Yup you are correct.
Steering was in excellent condition before, but got bent after this mishap thus became useless and was taken as scrap.

Updates.
Preparing the base for paint.

Wheel well has been done.
A thin film of paint will be painted here.

This portion of the fender will be painted.

The battery stand was corroded due to acid.

It was removed cleaned, and will be painted black.

You can also put a plastic tray under the battery. Have seen it in newer cars.

The work has been done in a very detailed and carefull manner, i likes, my only concern was if the front was redone in a straight line or not, 99% of khybers remade dont have there fronts in a straight line.

Yours looks a-okay, but u pointed out that the left now has gapping issues. Make sure everythings done properly, where this much time has been taken take out more time, Let it be done properly.

any plans of painting the front bumper with matt-black?

I remember on my 99 khyber, The rear bumper was of soft plastic but the front was of pathetic quality, iguess the dealer told me even Paksuzuki uses the cheap ones localy made

Thumbs for the quality of work. And attention paid to the smallest details. Usualy people say purani gari hai kaam chalao

It was in good shape.
Only some rust on the surface which got cleaned easily.
It has been painted.
See the pictures below.

The gaping issue on the left side was due to worn out bumper brackets on the fender.
It was a minor difference and will be done at the time of fitting.

I examined the front after denting and didnt find any issues. However I'll keep this thing in mind and will check once the car is done.

Regarding bumper then I wont paint it.
Not even in black colour.
Have another car with matching bumpers and I know how bad the scratches look on painted bumpers.

Some minor detailing such as wet sanding and compound polishing is yet to be done.

It was painted with spray but after that I got another coat of thick enamel paint done on it to prevent it from rust.

Yup bumper will be kept as it is.

We'll be re-installing the dashboard in a couple of days Insha-Allah.
Since the car had been parked in the open for quite long now so the AC ducts/pipes and the insulation and the wiring along with all the stuff that sits behind the dashboard has been covered in dust.
It cannot be washed due to the presence of fuse board and other electrical stuff.
Any idea what can/should be done to clean that area before the dashboard gets fit in?
I can clean it by blasting compressed air through it but it wont be enough to clean it properly.

May b some of the wires are a bit weak needs replacement..

in this situation when car is all opened u can do it easily n properly...

I plan to clean it by blasting compressed air which will remove dust and then will use a damp cloth to clean the wiring harness and other stuff.
There is a service station nearby, will take the car there and will use their compressor.

The in-cabin wiring harness (the dashboard ones and the ones on floor are in excellent condition)
No cuts or joints and everything is still in grip to grip fitting.
The wiring in the engine bay needs some attention and will be taken care of.
