HAHA!Exactly what I had in mind when I had my Liana 07 repainted.I didn't give a d@mn too what everyone said.I had it painted because I wanted a scratchless ride (H).

Please tell your denter to remove the side mirrors before painting. Also do not install these and the door strips until the painter polishes the paint!

P.s Can you please pm me the cost of denting + painting and from where are you getting it done? I am getting a 91 sunny in a day or two and the body needs work :S

I had it in my mind already. Every removable part would be painted separately and fixed after the car is compound polished. Those parts include side mirrors, door handles, door moldings and the chrome strip on bonnet and boot which would not be painted but would be removed before the bonnet and boot gets a fresh paint.

I have not bargained the rates with the denter and painter. Hopefully it would cost between 35-40 thousand rupees which include windscreen fitting charges and hopefully the booth's rent as well.

the awami love of jenwan paint is completely off the hook nuts and stupid, The used car dealer will always try to steal from you no matter if you have an unused car.

Good that you are refinishing the whole car, its the correct way to do it. No-one likes to drive around in a deadbeat, dented, scratched up and faded jenwan paint car. ask your painter to dry sand it first, then wet finish it till 1500 grit paper, rub down with degreaser cloths and then paint and seal it with everything removed. when done, wet sand it again with 2000 grit paper slightly and buff some proper glaze onto the car, top off with a synthetic wax coat applied about 2 times and admire the glass finish.

totally agreed. the dealers started it and it became a tradition. if the owner can provide pics of the painting process and a proper reason price shud not go down. if only the pakistani mentality could be corrected. i think if they want to buy a 50 years old car they would buy in genuine rust rather than respray

most car used dealers in Karachi who have dealt with me once - never deal with me again. I think they dont like being called (a bunch of gaaliyan). e.g. they would be selling a jenwan paint mercedes W126 - with burnt and botched wiring repairs, a red silicone sealed transmission, leaky differential, an engine noisy enough to wake the neighbours, sagged down seats, worn out door latches/straps and even worn out ignition tumblers.. ferget it, its a jenwan paint POS..

e.g. Ive went to see a car in Karachi - cowrolla never been in a car accident blah blah - when I see it - there is a wave in the C pillar on the left, and he says a tree fell on it and it was repaired (no accidents huh?) ar$ewipe.

it astonishes me sometimes seeing someone who has rubbed his car so much over the years so as to expose the grey base coat underneath, claiming with pride that its genuine...and m sure most of u have seen rickshaws with bare metal..al the paint plus the base gone due to repeated cleaning process over the ages..

thats classic. There was this person I knew in Karachi, he used to have a small business of plastic moulding - anyway, said person had a 1970 or 71 Datsun Sunny 1200 in light blue colour - factory finish, every panel had its primer exposed, several dozen dings and dents etc. He sold that car for Rs 250,000/- (I was the one riding the guy back home) - now WHY did someone pay Rs 250,000 for a car that has no prestige value etc - jenwan paint. - welcome to Pakistan folks, where jenwan paint matters everywhere except on womens faces, where by her face she is chitti, but her hands are brown - NOT COOL.

It wasnt always like that.. I can remember a time when things were much different, Car theft,murder was unheard of,having said that I seriously think we have somewhat lost our way as a nation in past 20-25 years.
