Yes the W124 build had an option for SLS. I have seen about 10 only and repaired 2. Exact same system and parts from an S124 - sans the rear bearing which is unique to estate, and antiroll bar linkage which is metal on estate and plastic on sedan. - the other links are the same in sedan and estate.
Thank your stars you dont have to replace a rear wheel bearing on an S124 - you literally need thor's slide hammer to remove the hub from the bearing) - The one time I did it, I had a blacksmith make me a 1/2 inch thick claw that bolts to the hub face with a long slot in it so I can use my 10 kg demolition hammer to move it, takes about 20 hits.
If you want to see something weird, Find out the selling price of the 1994 E320 S-Line model. Then compare that to the later W210 E320.
the W210 was about 8 thousand dollars cheaper 2 years later than the W124 in 1993-4
