Mabrook...and best of luck!
In a discussion I had with Yasir (khanrocks), we concluded how these sleepers...vehicles that apparently seem harmless and quaint and old-school...have the ability to be complete shockers.
It's so very heartening that enthusiasts like yourself are putting such "sleeper-shockers" back into business, which I think is definitely a sign of changing times from when the term "exotic" was used for a car that would be parked in a garage all the time, would perform dismally, and would hardly ever be seen on the roads. May Allah bless you with the himmat and wherewithal to see this project through to completion.
Additionally, the 2JZ is a marvellous engine, which offers a huge bang for the buck. And in a relatively small-ish coupe like the Celica, acceleration and grunt are very likely to be phenomenal. May I advise you thus, to make sure that things OTHER than the engine also come under scrutiny. INTENSE SCRUTINY. Things like the drivetrain, brakes, axles, diffs, ends, wheels, etc. In a car that has the potential to be a genuine 6/14 beast (six seconds 0-100, and fourteen seconds for the quarter mile), you don't want catastrophic failures at 150+ km/hr!
Best of luck, once again.
