Please take pictures of the engine mountings relative to the entire engine and chassis.

in the pics the engine was just put in the bay to see how it fits , mounts are yet to be made, it would be pushed back 2-3 inches:may be firewall need to be hammered a bit (the further back the engine the better the handling) ... will post pics when i visit it next time

2 to 3 inches wont be enough - If you saw an original "celica supra" it was a larger car with longer fenders because it had an inline 6 cyl in it. Most probably you would need to cut the firewall and make a new one along with a new transmission tunnel to correctly place this engine. Not to sound like a spoil sport but recently I was helping out a guy in Karachi with an issue after he pushed a 1JZ into his car, The engine was sitting too far upfront - which is wrong by any extent.

To make a car drift, you need adjustable damping so when in normal use you can soften damping pressure and when on circuit (which are none in this country) you make damping super stiff like a rock.

what i mean from above super stiff is rear tyres should not go down apart from going up

Yup may be it needs to be pushed further back ... Yup i have seen orignal mk1 celica supra with its inline six M something engine i think

are 2JZ available for scrap money?? Its being shoved into anything that has 4 wheels in Pakistan. This celica would benefit from a nissan swap SR20DET comes to mind.

Not a bad idea...ppl do that all the time in Melbourne...I have couple of friends who did ca18det into 84 corollas....it's a hammer

Best of luck for the resto doc...I myself is doing a complete restoration and engine swap on a local car in Melbourne these days...just came back in my room after spending the last 6 hours trying to put the gearbox in....I do all work on my car by myself or with help of friends...it's a complete DIY

The most favorite engines from swap in melbourne are Nissan engines hence very expensive....

Sir g tussi great ho ... Firewall has been cut and a new one would be made later , sorry no pics as car was not in workshop as it was shifted to a specialized unit for firewall cutting n mounts making

Thanks oracles and death_ride ... Whats so special about sr20det ??? Been there done that ... Can not beat 1jzgte bang for the buck ... Wayy cheap , easy maintanance , easy availability of parts and more powerfull ... What if sr20 is a bit light : it sounds like a tracter and is also very tall ... 1jz FTW

You are missing that its a 4 cyl engine, hence lighter and is better suited to distribute proper weight, If I were to shove a 6 cyl into a celica, I would get a mercedes M104 (24V) engine, put a Motec on it and join a GM TH350 to its behind. and fool around all day long.

If you take off the turbos of a 1JZ and see the exhaust ports - you will be amazed at the sheer stupidity of Toyota/Yamaha when they were designing it. - Its more of a case of how not to make a cylinder head. But anyway, do show the firewall cut - and as you are cutting the firewall, ask the guy to cut the tunnel and make room for the exhaust too.

If only mixing and matching rear ends, trannys and engines was that easy in pakistan. Yahaan sirf 1jz 2jz 1uz aur b16 chalta hai, parts are taken out of cars and sold in shershah with no idea as to where they came from and what they exactly are. But then again i doubt 1jz 2jz 1uz and b16's are this easily available and cheap anywhere else in the world.
