Proton Launched in Pakistan Today! + launch pics

Very nice cars but I hardly see these getting successful in Pakistan only due to us being "Lakeer Kay Fakeer". I said earlier and I say again, write Corolla on a donkey and it will sell for a million in Pakistan. And thats what we are buying under a Corolla and suzuki except Liana.

I admire Mr. Mahatir Mohammad very much. I think he is one of the greatest leaders any Muslim country ever had. Just because of his association to these cars I really pray for the success of these cars in Pakistan.

well i wud like to share my exp of driving proton when i was in malaysia, protons are nice cars to drive but thy r not tht luxerious all the protonz normally used as taxi in malaysia as itz thr local assembeled car and all the taxiz were converted on CNG the 1 i rented was on petrol and the best thing i like abt proton is the petrol avg of tht car which was awsome. And positive point of proton is itz pretty gud on cng too as i was going kulalumpur to ganting in taxi and it was cng and the drive was good , as ganting is an uptown place just like a murre in pak.

It is a very positive development on Pak automobile scene.

The prices are attractive too and good value for money because you are getting lots of accessories and safety features which are not available in local assembled junks.

Proton has offered a good range of cars, catering to all segments and it's build quality and finishing is much better than our local rollas and suzukis.

I think it is time to switch to a Proton, because it is their launch and they must have sent surely the best pieces to Pakistan.

It will also further accelerate the competiton and our local assemblers now should wake up and stop fleecing the consumers.

today me,,,,ahsen rg,,, and khubaib visited the proton showroom,,,,,,,,,,,,

believe me the cars are of real poor build quality,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the shapes are real ugly,,,,,,,except Gen 2,,,,,,,,,,,,,the price tags are too high ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and the features offered are nothin,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

i had good thoughts about Gen 2 but today after visiting the showroom,,,,,,my mind has completely changed

even 1.6 gen 2 cng,,,,,,,,goes to 10 lakh which is too much for such a poor finish,,,,,,,,,,,,

aik baat aur,,,,,,,,,,,,almost all the cars look good in the showroom ,,,,,,,,,,,,so stop mentioning ke they really looked good

and all those ppl who complain about pak honda ,,,,,,,,,,,,plz plz stop this nonsense ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,just take sometime and have a drive with Ahsen_rg in his new 2006 civic,,,,,,,,,u will find out what honda is all about,,,,,,,,,,,

there is not even a single imported car that can match it at the moment,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

so plz take this competition thing to one side,,,,,,,,,,,we cannot buy junk just to increase competition,,,,,,,,,,,,,ppl said that lancer was giving competition ,,,,,,,,,now look at this no airbags,,,,,,no abs,,,,,,so just for 10% better build quality ,,,,,,,,,,,,one shud think of buying it,,,,,,,,,this is really not very intelligent

pak honda is doing very well at the moment in providing good cars,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,so stop complainig and start encouraging our local industry,,,,,,,,,,,,,,afterall Liana and City have been good cars

i am sure most of u wud be happy to but the new civic for 20 lacs or so if it is imported but u are not ready to accept 13.5 lakh price tag for ur local manufactured civic,,,,,,,,,,

i think its time to give up our double standards and appreciate what good is done

I gotta agree with hamdani_08.So much wisdom in someone so young!!.All this euphoria over the Proton launch is leaving me cold!!.Most of the cars are 20 year old Mitsubishi rejects and the new ones have been developed by rejects from the British Motor industry.That's saying a lot 'cause the Brits don't have a homegrown auto marque at the moment!!.And we all know why!!.They now design Proton's!!.Then the prices.I was almost choked by the 7-UP i wuz drinkin'. Ridiculous is all i can say!!. And , the launch party!!. Looked more like a political party to me!!. I say stick to the excellent Honda's , Toyota's and the tried and true Cultus and SUPPORT the REVO, fer crissakes!!!.

To the young fella'z, when you are old enuf to earn u'r own and go shopping... you'll understand what is "worth it" ...... stop spending father's money and get the heck outa thier pockets.....!!!!

The good thing is that at least we are thinking of buying something other than Suzuki, Toyota or Honda. Few years back, even thinking of buying something like this would have been plain impossible.

We are slaves of our own thinking, let's, at least, try to break these shackles.
