On one forum a guy having same problem with an isuzu put in a non stock matching resistor and it worked without a problem.

Chalo G. Ab koi to cheez reh hi jaati hey, pata jo nai tha, next time, yaad rakhon ga. Actually, it was hidden under the fender and it was utterly lack of knowledge, due to which it was left. Anyways, this is how you learn, nai ?

if you can match the ohms and wattage - you are good to go.

I made a lot of resistor boxes for honda and also mitsubishi etc. from electronics market resistors, I also used them to slow down condenser fans with A/C on (increase their life)

I do out have money to waste so I would go buy an auto tranny N16 if I need one rather then putting a newer generation engine and tranny in a 22 year old car.

by its size and function it looks like a 25~35W resistor. They used to be Rs 30/piece when I was in karachi. You can buy it in ceramic type too. When you make one make sure to mount it on a plate with some thermal paste so it can dissipate heat.
