Rakaposhi trek in a Rush,and a night on the bank of naltar lake

@asifcae.. yaar was just browsing the forum... where are all trekkers, i am seeing many many many road tours, and less trekking excursions...

is this just my feeling or actually it is so???

yes bilkul sahe keh rahe hai muje 3 months ho gaye hain zada tar road trips ke thread hain only few dedicated travelers hain jo trek kar rahe hain like u, asif bhai aesige n few other member you guys should spread some awareness regarding trekking & hiking

and the glacier and the rakaposhi and the diran and the merging of two glaciers, one coming down from rakaposhi and one coming from Diran peak...

the one coming from rakaposhi is sheer white, while the one descending from diran is blacky blacky...

there is a local myth, and ancient myth... people believed that glaciers were living creatures, they breathe, eat, and even reproduce. According to the legend, white glacier is male glacier while muddy or black glacier is female glacier. Rakaposhi peak is throne of a fairy and a female mount, and that is the reason, there is a male glacier while diran is male mountain and has a female glacier....

Years back, i have read of another legend regarding a fairy named miropee in a book titled "words for my brother" written by john staley.

According to legend, in ancient times, fairies were common in the region, and so were wild goats and sheep. Moreover, these fairies treat these wild goats and sheep as their begotten sons and daughters. It was also said that if someone encounters any fairy, then that fairy takes him/her with herself and he is lost for ever. There was one very very very beautiful fairy named miropee and she loved humans and wild goats a lot. More over she was also very shy. Once in high pastures (near rakaposhi base camp) she was feeding some wild goat with her milk, some hunter who reached there in search of his prey saw her. Fairy miropee was so upset that she utterly turned herself into a stone. As she was feeding at that moment, some of the milk was spilt on the rock near by. The book said that still there is miropee turned into stone and the milk spots on near by rock. i tried to find it, but couldnt find miropee fairy rock or stone.
The book is almost 40 years old.

yes there have alwayz been less trekkers around and many of the old gurus have either stopped trekking or stopped posting there threads... my belief is that this is because of the recent rush of ourist activities u get many threads and ppl r not reading any treking threads.. even my threads r not read and commented on by anyone really just a few ppl who r follwoing me dearly (many thanks to them all) ... its just unfortunate .....

yaar asif i confess, but my heart is broken,,,, ease of access has ruined all the charm and pleasure we had in early days. now ease of acces has brought the things and behaviours of cities up there as well.

road building is a good thing but, before that nations chractor building must be done so that they wont spoil the entire soul of region.

aaahhhh yes danish bhai bhus lehri qaum ka yehi haal hai.... kuch nai ia ja sakta... just wait to c this bubble blow out or live ur life out .... ap ap aise jagain dhunday jahan log sochay bhe na janay ka.. and i hope they never build these blody roads everywhere.....

Dear Brother!

Really enjoyed while reading and watching your whole thread, amazing, really amazing, especially Full Moon Night Pictures of the Beauty RAKAPOSHI.

I am new to threads while old at PW, but really loved to read threads and posts and appreciate when got time. You are right. Threads read bhi nahi karta koi, appreciation tu door ki baat hay siwaye chund logoon kay.

I also love to trek but due to some certain reasons its not possible for me, however Main apni piyaas driving karkay bujha layta houn :), love adventures, and now love adventurous drives. Recently took my family to Hunza Gilgit, astore, khunjerab, deosai babusar top etc.

But! Really bohat acha laga apki efforts daikh kar, aur specially STORY Parh kar, in the whole thread, there came a moment when i was feeling that i am there :).

Keep sharing your beautiful moments all the time, they are special, they are unique, they are important, and they are precious.

yaar, story to sunaun ga,, of first meeting with naltar after a decade..... when she (naltar lake) talked with me in isolation and the whole story. I wrote that on the bank of naltar lake....
