A lot of shepherds were taking their herds to Deosai for the summer season. The herds were adding to the beauty of this wonderful route. Saw some schools and army setups with Pakistani flag waving high.

Nice thread. Why you did not try Chilam on Cultus? From the pictures, it appears to be do able.

BTW, you guys are on the start of the professional curve so mentioned your biodata here as well re who is who, who is MBA and who has more salary......even car reg number. I think this should not be shared on at least public forum.

Wanderlust bhai its great to have your feedback on my thread. May be you are right, but honestly i dont find any problem in sharing these info. Or may be i dont have any idea what can be the consequences of sharing such details.

Regarding taking cultus to Chilum we were initially advised to take jeep from Astore as it would be difficult to get jeep at chilum for Deosai. Regarding the road to chilum, its possible to take the car on this road but not upto chilum as there is a patch where the road is completely washed out and you have to pass through some big stones. This point is some 10-15 km before chilum. So i think it was the right decision to take jeep from Rama.

Regarding Chikna, I also dont see any problems in sharing this info but i guess it can hurt Chikna's reputation.

Reached Chilum at around 12pm

At Chilum Army check post there was a quarrel going on between the Army personnel and a truck driver which took around 10 minutes while we had to wait. Got our ID's entered into their register and moved ahead. The good news that we got here was that we might be able to reach bara pani as a tractor has reached there. But no one was sure about it.

Bought tickets for Deosai National Park from the entry point and moved into Deosai. The road was very nice only upto a few km after which we had to go through pura jeep track full of stones.

While we were entering Deosai, we saw clouds gathering over the peaks but we considered it normal in such areas. We were not sure what we were going to witness very soon. The weather was cold but not too much. We kept enjoying and moving towards Deosai Top. Till now there was no blockage.

The clouds kept gathering and soon it started becoming dark. The next pictures might not be very bright due to the same reason. We were approaching Deosai top and it was getting very cold. We were not very well equipped to overcome such cold weather. But the scenery was so beautiful that we made a compromise to our bodies.
