Alhamdulliah, Another excellent trip to explore Two top class lakes of AJK i.e., Ratti Gali Lake & Patlian Lake completed.
It's four day family trip from 25.09.20 to 28.09.20. Seven family members inclusive 5 kids from 7 yr to 21 yr ages.

25.09.20 (At 12:00 PM) Islamabad ~Upper Neelam

26.09.20 (At 08:00 AM) Upper Neelam ~ Ratti Gali ~ Back to Upper Neelam

27.09.20 (At 6:30 AM) Upper Neelam ~ Patlian Lake ~ Back to Kutton Jagra

28.09.20(At 10:00 AM) Kutton ~ Islamabad

Both lakes are excellent but Patlian Lake is really wonderful with full of natural beauty & very less visited.

Day 1: We left Islamabad at 12:00 PM & reached Upper Neelam at 06:30 PM. We stayed at Green Village Valley which is best option in that region. They have different types of rooms but we booked family lodge which consists of one double bed room & one single bedroom @ 6000/- per night. Hotel & their food is nice.
We just took dinner & slept for next day early start up.

Day 2: From Upper Neelam to Ratti Gali Lake jeep track is approx. 2.5 to 3 hrs. Upper Neelam to Dwarian is carpeted road & afterwards jeep track which is tough & tiring.
You may park your car at Dwarian & get jeep from there. From Dwarian to Ratti Gali, jeep rent is 6000 ~ 6500 but if you take from Upper Neelam directly, it would be 8000.
Season was going to end and it's was last week. After that, all tents are taken off at Ratti Gali. We took jeep direct from Upper Neelam.
After 2.5 hrs travel, we reached at Ratti Gali Tent area where Jeep track ended. From here, one hour walking track or you may take horses. There were clouds & looks like that rain or snow would be falling at lake.

We took only two horses for our small kids & others on walking track. The weather was excellent with clouds & wind was blowing. a tiny lack before main lack also in the track. When we reached at lake, snow fall started and its really wonderful. Here, we took Kashmiri Qahwa & boiled eggs.
Excellent lake surrounded by mountains. It's approximately at 12280 feet height.

Due to snow fall & rain, track was slippery on return so here horses were unable to track back. We reached at tent area & performed Zohr prayer & taken lunch here. Started travel back & reached Upper Neelam at 06:00 PM.

Any tips and suggestion while travelling to Ratti Gali and Patlian trek with family?

Specially, for Patlian lake: There is no place of any food item & nothing else. Better to have heavy breakfast at Dwarian and put some food stuff for whole day.
Secondly, jackets must be with you when going on both lakes as there is no weather prediction
