I have the electric pump (used to fill air in tyres).
Also, If I understand correctly, a bad/old radiator cap is needed so that it remains tight and doesnt leak the pressure, right?
No, But to let water / air in from expansion tank port even when there is no vacuum in the radiator
While driving in 4th gear (80 ish kmph), I felt sudden jerks (or misfires). This happened after carb service and wasn't at all happening before that. Could it be some carb setting, throttle body issues or plugs issue?
Just a wild guess, May be something related to Secondary throttle Or May be Timing Advance using vacuum pod.
How to confirm?
check the ignition cable seating at slots from Coil to Distributor, & to spark plugs.
Is it okay to run the cat with AC on all the time? I read somewhere that AC should be switched on preferably when the drive is more than 10,15 mins
Went again to mehmood carb. Zahid looked at and said yes, that's because the high speed pipe (secondary butterfly pipe) wasn't connected. The guy there fixed it.
Will check the performance again and report here
Haven't got time to build the pressure testing system to check leakage yet. Will report IA once done
I was right about Secondary throttle
One more query. What's the normal voltage and power output of the cigarette lighter. I actually want to install the USB charger there but in these cars, the power output is so low is takes hours and hours to charge a phone. How can we possibly increase the power output?
Or is it because of poor quality charger?
u need a high wattage car charger like 45 watts and above to enjoy super fast charging on the phone.
normally the performance of car chargers is better as compared to wall chargers.
Max Current that you can draw from cigarette lighter port is 20 Amps, @14 Volts they will be around 280 Watts.
The main cause of slow charging is The poor charger quality.
Get something good and you will enjoy it.
Maybe something like this
Perfect. Will grab something like this
umm.
That pipe is not the job of the carburettor machinist but the mechanic fitting the carburettor and adjusting it on the engine, Is the powervalve also hooked up or is that also disconnected and blocked off?
Guys, I am driving it right now and the car just doesn't stay on. As soon as I leave the accelerator, it dies off. What could be the reason. Just fueled 15 litres..
Last time I drove, I maxed out the fuel and since the pump was 100m ahead, I drove it but the car was taking jerks. I refuelled and the car took jerks, but I let it run on fast idle for 3,4 mins and it was fine then. But today, it is doing the same since I started.
Could it be because of some dust particles in the fuel pump?
Well guys, the fast idle worked. Probably some dirt in the fuel line which got cleared after I revved a few secs on high rpm
