Update now: just drove another 15ish KMs and it was perfectly normal.

However, that top speed issue is constant since carb service. I firmly believe its the change in jet sizes as mehmood doesn't allow anybody inside his workshop.

Went to the market to buy a tachometer. The one available is a Chinese and the shopkeeper says its universal (3,4 etc. Cylinders). Worth it for 4k?

I am confused wrt this:

At what fuel level does the car start taking jerks (indicating that fuel has ended). Is it actually till the last litre or something else?

I fueled 10 litres, and as soon as it gave first indication of low fuel (a slight jerk and increased vibration), I immediately refuelled another 10 litres. Drove about 52kms and then went for tank clean up. The leftover fuel in the tank filled about 8.2litres. This was surprising.

Any idea?

It is not that. Your last 8 liters must be contaminated.

Upon cleaning the tank, there was no major dust debris etc. I changed the fuel filter though

it might be any contamination. the reserve fuel should be around 4-5 litrs max after the needle reaches E mark.

There is something still wrng with your carb setting i guess.

Update: alright so. Overall things are smooth so far. AC performance is top-notch Alhamdolillah. I use the choke system in the morning. It takes about 5-6mins to stabilise.
Cleaned the air filter box and sealed it properly. Painted the air filter box and the tappet cover using ABRO engine enamel.

However, coolant/water loss has increased. It was like 100ml / 50kms but now its 150-200ml/50 kms. I have an exam at the end of this month so have stopped working on the car for the time being. Final polish by the denter is remaining though and the fitting of indicators.

last proper mileage i checked was about 8km/l with AC. However, there was this carburetor problem in the midst of that so I guess this is not the actual mileage. Will be monitoring and update accordingly.

Doss the fuel gauge look fine now? Just refuelled almost 19litres from zero.

After installation of new springs (original petrol wale spring), does it take some time for them to settle and lower or they should lower the ride from the day of installation?
