i think its showing 45% of fuel tank level, means 100% should b around 42 liters.

i dont think khyber had such big tank, thats a C segment car fuel capacity.

i think khyber used to tak 25 or 30 liters in total

the height is abnormal. it has to be 2 inches lower empty cabin. spare wheel with 28 psi & Tools in trunk. did afzaal shop worked over your car ?? go back to them

I firmly believe its the change in jet sizes as mehmood doesn't allow anybody inside his workshop.

why not remove the carb and check the jets? - also check if the secondary is working properly.

No it wasn't afzaal. It was pakistan engineering where I got my axle work done.

They just fitted it. I had bought the BDL Shocks and springs myself. They come with 6 months warranty. Bought it from the very famous kashmir automobile at Plaza. Will go to them again

Also, my brother who also drives says there isn't much difference. I then realised I have been driving with AC on all the time. He drove with AC off a few times and noted that the pick is as it used to be earlier.

So this also be a factor, right?

Does the engine labour to go to full throttle? Or is very eager?

Dashpot working? When shifting gears, does it hang rpm or not?

Just for everyone else. This guy sells scrap parts in LHR. He is asking 160k for this Holden Barina's 1,300 engine (Australia) with each and everything (gear, AC compressor etc etc).
Will definitely improve mileage to I guess 13-15kmpl. Anybody who's looking for an overhaul can consider this instead. The older stuff can be sold between 40-60k depending on the condition. For instance, air filter box itself is being sold for 2k, carburettor for 6-8k etc, etc. Engine can be sold for 15-17k.

So this entails a net outflow of 120k IMO including delivery and labor charges

Umm. No? What could be the issue here? The guy is a stockist of old khyber /swift/geo metro/holden barina parts. Visited his shop in Lhr and he had almost all stuff in very good condition.
Can't obviously comment on the insides of this engine. I understand holden barina in kbyber shape was last launched in 1988 in Australia

This is a very common engine in Pakistan, the only difference is that it uses a right angled distributor drive, which is basically a separate part.

Facing two problems since the last couple of days:

1) car is apparently running rich. Even on a cold start, it starts immediately as if someone had just driven and the RPMs stabilise quicker than how they did last week. It happened all itself. i didnt fiddle with any screw, carb etc etc.

2) the accelerator/sudden jerk issue came up again. So it's like: you press the accelerator half way and the car accelerates normally. just a little more push amd there is a sudden burst of power and the car suddenly accelerates. It then gets normal the next second. Sometimes I experience it on idle as well. Standing at a signal, if i rev it half way, the engine responds almost normally. just a little more push and a burst of power.

I am at a loss in understanding how to go about now. Mehmood has adjusted it already, the carb guy Javed removed the fuel dirt. But still facing these issues. I havent removed the seals/rubbers that I installed in air filter/between carb and air filter though as @helper_learner had earlier mentioned. My guess is I should have gone to the carb guy or adjusted the mixture screws after installing those rubber/seal items. Right? But I did not due to paucity of time. Can I continue driving like this for another 200-250 kms and get this check after 30th Aug ? (after my exam)

Driven 185 kms
Fuel: 23.4 litres

Average: 7.91kmpl (75% on AC and 25% without AC)

I am still not satisfied with your mileage, jerk issue, cold start via rich fuel usage, unstabilized RPM after so much spending of time, money and effort.

Seems your Carburettor is still not as per spec.
Similar story went with your suspension. It is not as it should be

Apparently setting up a carburetor is now considered “uncool” and “purana zamana kaam”

And then you have morons who only work on “half salaff shtarrt” and “sunn injann” who start messing with the carby without checking if other parameters like valve clearances, ignition advance curve, ignition coil, rotor and cap performance is actually ok.
