LOL! no doubt, it really has taken WAY too long but i guess the fact that i never got a chance to travel abroad since then didn't help. I was supposed to go today and get the remaining stuff done but i was so tired that i didn't go, however i did manage to score a used windscreen for my car which is allegedly in MUCH better condition than the one on my car at the moment (Y)

now all i really want is an ashtray and a stereo!

she's far from ready, but then again i'm very picky as to when "ready" will be,... next month i#ll be taking her on her first endurance test runs, followed by a dyno and some performance runs with a few "upgrades".

currently on the look out for a set of original disc brakes for the 1303...

I applaud your dedication to this project and I wish you all the best mate, I'd love to see the "end" of the restoration that is the finished product. I went to an auto show last weekend still havent gone through all the pics but will upload them soon. At the show there was a heavily modified Beetle with an interesting sound installation & rims among other things, I'll try and post those pics first..... maybe you can get some idea's from it. Is it ok to post them on your thread ?

thanls buddy, i wish i'd known you were in the UK i just got back from there after a 2 month break. as for your lightweight, i know it's in safe hands and it'll make another appearance soon enough. did you do any work after the last time we met? regardless i'm sure youl'll also be bringing some goodies back for it when you come back to ISB.

would had linked up but never knew u were here never mind theres always a next time, u know these landys always need something or the other very tempermental machine.the only thing i done after that was i changed the whole exhaust system from manifold to back box[remember it sounded horrible] got it when i came to london for holidays in june went back end of august got that fitted b4 ramazan after 4 weeks i jus packed my bags and came back after that big [hotel] incident.The diffs seals r leaking i had the seals but never got a chance to replace them during ramazan.

Stumbled across this thread while randomly going through the forums.
Have, by now read half of it (during the last couple of hours), enjoyed it immensely. Wonderful job!
I've always wanted to get a Super Beetle and restore it to factory specs, just never got around to doing it. But now, seeing yours, i am going to find one when i get to Pakistan in January '09. Do keep a lookout for 1303/S.

There you go mate, hope these give you some ideas. The sound setup was awesome and you couldnt stand close when the guy was playing music..... I also love the rims and the interior with the leather seats etc. If you want the full size pcs (4272x2848 pixels each) I can email them to you.

there is one here which is in nearly brand new condition, but there is a serious price tag to go with it. but if you wish to do a restoratino job i'd suggest you either start with a base 1303 (like mine) or a 1303S which is already a 1600 and has disc brakes (something which is a nightmare to find. Glad you enjoyed the thread (Y) It's all down to input from the members.

DAYYUM! that is for sure a nicely done machine, perhaps once i manage to get all the mechanical bits sorted out i'll look into doing a stereo system as i REALLY get bored when i get stuck in traffic right now. Not a HUGE fan of the design of the rims but the actual way they sit in the fenders and the ride height of the car are VERY nice. too bad the front suspensino of the 1302 & 3 is nothing like the other beetles, which makes it a nightmare to fit wide wheels/tyres on the front. Sameer bhai thats some great stuff you got there (Y) Looking forward to see it in person. I simply love the door panels and the other chrome bits. Should dress up the engine well.

Couldnt understand if ^ thats a flamethrower thats fitted in the exhaust or something else

 Storm is referring to an ignition coil. Flamethrower is the brand/nick as it gives a very high voltage output of somewhere 40000volts as mentioned.

for details on that car you need to contact romano as he knows more about it than i do. as far as i know the car is clear of all finance, registered, RHD, Metallic dark blue, black intgerior, can't recall the milage.

hope things are well. i am curious to know if the ride height for your beetle is back to normal? i have come back to this thread after a while and remember the issue being discussed. what was the resolution there?

is there a dyno testing facility in lahore or islamabad? i am not aware of one in karachi, then again i have never been very interested in the "fast and the furious" culture, so i could be mistaken.

Good to hear from you. Im ok but tied up with some issues. Hope they are resolved soon but might take a couple of months.

Where are you these days?? Karachi or abroad?? Mohsin bhais purchase is indeed great. It would be great if you could locate some stuff for the split as you offered. Finding anything for a split bug in Pakistan is practically impossible.
