***Rebuilding my VW 1303 Superbeetle***

anytime buddy, but don't expect SERIOUS performance (by today standards). back in 1974 this thing was quick, now it's as fast as a cultus

went for a nice ride today to romanos, drove like a dream, but i seriously need a windscreen swap as mine is scratched up (fine during the day, horrible at night with idiot civics and corollas on high beams)

scored a few parts yesterday, most needed was one side mirror (the cheap taiwanese replica) and a set of brand new ball joints (74+ model ones which are hard to find).

apart from that i got 2 used magnetic oil-drain nuts (one for the thing and one as a spare for the thing as the 1303 already has a new one from the UK), and a brand new interior mirror (in black).

i got some more parts but i can't recall them at the moment.

thanks buddy, i'm sure you appreciate such silly little things, since finding correct parts for old cars is a nightmare.

i know these are cheap taiwanese replicas but anything is better than not having mirrors (they are an essential safety feature when driving).

honestly after the run to LHR in the corolla i have alot of respect for all you did to bring your car back to life,.. i'm using it as inspiration so that one day my 1303 may be as "original" as your car. seriously that trip impressed the hell out of me (Y)
