Off-Road pattern in 185/65R15 is some search, have you found any probable options?

Pajero minis have R15 but for those tyres you have to compromise on both width and height e.g. 215/70/R15 Dunlop AT is an option, The Thing would need to be raised a bit (as done by most of Germans using it for Off-Road purpose).

I have have noticed many cars in with winter tyres (very common in Mehran these days), following pattern {firestones}:

yup, that's my biggest issue. i can't afford to use winter tyres as they generate too much heat and can fail in our summers. also the mini pajero tyres are too large (though they seem to be the only option at the moment). maybe i'm being difficult but i want what i want and i honestly don't care if i have to import the tyres but woudl prefer to get new ones here for the intended purpose.

there are many in the 2nd hand market but they are almost all over 5 years old an d i find that to be unsafe as well.

is it actualy called the thing?

i remember asking u in the isl meet pics that wats that VW thing and u said explained about that thing, until today i thot u were refering me calling it as a thing, my bad i didnt knew its called "the Thing"

I'm glad you're not thinking of using winter tires, they can and do fail in our hot climate very easily,
I had a very bad experience with Goodyear winter tires on one of my jeeps, the tire burst due to the excessive heat, i had been driving at over 100kmph just a few minutes before the incident but for some reason slowed down coz the vehicle just didnt feel right,
I was doing around 20-30kmph when it finally gave away and when I touched the tire I couldbe believe it, it was really hot and the rubber had badly melted, the steel belts were also perforated from multiple places and my rim was also damaged but luckily Alhamdullillah I was ok and was able to control the vehicle due to the low speed.
Just a week later I found out that one of the jeeps in my offroad group had met a similar fate also running winter tires on the motorway doing motorway speeds.
I would re-emphasize the importance of not even considering the use of winter tires.

officially this car was called the VW type 182 (rhd) and 181 (Lhd) but it adopted the name "thing". same way the beetle was officially called hte VW type 1, and hte bus was called the VW type 2.

the project is verry much under way but the problem i keep facing is that since the 1303 is running i tend to give her more attention at the moment.

the thing need rear lights, a front headlight, alighnment, tyres and a new fuel line and she'll be abck on the roads. Only then can I get the roof, seats and other stuff sorted out...

yesterday i got the biggest surprise of all,.. i went to khalids workshop to check on the 69 beetle we're building and i called up zaigham to join us there,... when he showed up he brought me a present,.. something i've been looking for since the day it was released:

today i went ot find out abotu nexen tyres (165/80R15) only to be told by the dealer that they are in KHI and hte stock is 1 year old,... he then continued to tell me that tyres can last up to 6 years on a shelf and only 3 years on a car,...

so i verbally tore him a new exit hole and left his shop.

it's sad when local agents don't know sh*t about their own products.

looks like i'm going to be fitting some 539's or 702s on the thing :(:(:(:(:(

^y not Yoko Aspecs? nd i guess 539s out of production or mayb the tire i wanted was out of production. One tire got flat couldnt find it any where, wen i got my tires i was initialy fooled by getting older stocks (didnt noe much about tires then). For that one tire i went to the other shop who i had now trusted on and (this time got a even older tire as it was a left over tire in stocks). this guy usualy gives me freshest most tires I.e (3months after production and claims thats the shipping time)

ideally i want a slightly "offroad" oriented tyre for the thing in any of hte sizes mentioned below:

165/80R15 (645mm) front & rear - OEM
175/80R14 (636mm) front & rear
185/75R14 (633mm) front & rear
195/75R14 (648mm) front & rear - ideal size but hard to find in PK in an offroad pattern
205/70R14 (643mm) front & rear - ideal size but hard to find in PK in an offroad pattern
185/65R15 (621mm) front only
185/70R15 (640mm) front & rear
195/65R15 (634mm) front & rear - most likely the size i'll go for in a street tyre
205/65R15 (648mm) front & rear - ideal size but hard to find in PK in an offroad pattern
