I have also been watching this thread and doing a lil searching on the net Sir correct me if i am wrong all these triumphs are British leyland cars then howcome its a LHD, and i was watching a program which said although they had great designs but the engineering was no good heating issues mainly we have a 1960s Wolseley in a workshop belonging to my Grandfather and my Father says it always used to heat up when they travelled to murree looooong time back...perhaps not that long for you

I know dear that you are accompanying ......Thank you so much .....Let me try to solve the confusion you have in mind.....Yes all triumph cars are made and designed by British leyland .....an exception is triumph spitfire which was designed by an Italian named " Giovanni Michelotti" which was hired by British leyland.......So if you see triumph spitfire,you will feel that its entirely different from other triumphs having an Italian touch in the design ...like Alfa romeo spider ....
Now we come to the LHD issue....A very big amount of these triumph cars were exported to USA.....In fact ,they were always targeting USA automobile market for their cars......meeting their specs....like emission control systems,LHD,modified bumpers and some other modification for the cars made for USA market.....In those times .... a lot of cars were imported from USA to Pakistan including these British cars.....So Like this .....This particular triumph herald was imported in pakistan from USA ...that is why it is LHD....But Don't worry ....:)...as it is our donor car ......but our original car is a RHD ....So eventually it will be a RHD Car ....
wolseleys were very famous cars of that era .....Yes I agree that there were flaws in engineering and designs of these cars and they had there limitations .....heating issue may be one of them .....but these cars are great....I am really happy to know that you have a wolseley and I strongly feel that it should be restored to its former glory....a great piece of history...

Rehman bhai,very sad to see the damage done by ignorance of your staff.
I too feel the z3' bonnet will have to be redone,not sure about red lady as pictures are not clear.

Some unexpected situations in last 2/3 days........:(.....two cars are parked in front lawn under the typical Green cloth ......BMW Z3 and Red spitfire (under assembling ) and were covered with Parachute car covers and a plastic sheet......In last week of constant rain or may be more than that ....no one took the covers off ....I am not using Z3 because of my bad back and the other car (spitfire) was under construction ......Although I used to ask people working in the house to Take a look at the cars to make sure that every thing is ok as both of them are convertibles........But as you know people around (I don't feel good to use word ":servants") don't listen unless you make sure that your instructions are being followed and specially a lenient person like me is always taken for granted..... So no one bothered to see what is happening under the covers ......A couple of days back when it was sunny I asked to take the covers off ...as I wanted to take a spin in z3......when covers were removed ............................ Both cars were wet under the covers constantly for several days....a sort of steamed....
RESULTS.....
The original Paint of the bonnet of BMW Z3 "BLISTERED" Right in the middle of bonnet about 1.5 square feet...ruining all the bonnet. Same situation on the left fender of the red spitfire and a patch of around 4 sq inch on the boot .......New bright red paint ruined ......even before car is assembled back..... Not much bothered about BMW but felt very bad for my spitfire .......because years of working /precautions and care gone down the drain..... So like this both of the cars Are in bad shape..........:(... I was sorting out ,what to do now...... This is the sad story of last couple of days..... ANY HOW.......SUB CHALTA HAI LIFE MAIN...........

Actually you have to make sure that every thing is done as per your instructions....And I was not feeling well ...so did not bother ....and it happened....You are right dear that bonnet will have to be redone...
More concerned about red one ,which is spoiled before completion ...

I have just come here after reading your wonderful thread ......marvelous...
You can't take care of everything yourself and and have to depend on others ...and when "OTHERS" ditch you...this all happens....:(.....Thinking about getting the black one fixed first ....to drive and enjoy it in coming season with the top down....:)...but leaving red one as it is until we assemble it mechanically and in running condition....

Lets carry on with our project ......
Me and Ustaad zahid went to the steel shop and bought two steel sheet ....each measuring 4x6.5 feet and thickness was 18 gauge .weighing 23 kg each initially for making new floor pans and other under panels which were rusted and needed replacement...
Did not buy more as it is rainy season and bare metal catches rust even with moisture in the air.....

Ustaad showing me the "farma" in detail and discussing how to start with the first panel to be made ...i .e rear right floor pan...

please remember that the steel sheet is 18 gauge thick and every shape and contours you see here are totally hand made without any Press using simple tools like hammer and dolly ......
Which is not so easy.....

Another view......this is not complete yet and a lot of work is to be done on it......but all the grooves are exactly at the same place as original with the same shape and even depth of the grooves are same....

A pattern or "KAINDA" in desi language..... is made from a steel strip which exactly fits the original design/groove...as you can see ......(sorry for poor pic quality)...

And it exactly fits our fabricated floor pan ....just notice the curves and contour of this floor pan.....its in one piece without welding or even heating....

Sir, have u tried cupping (Hijama)? It's a sunnah treatment, Muhammad SEWA performed it many times, a few ppl i know have had their back aches etc. treated this way. Sorry for being off-track, just thaught it might help.

the red spitfire paint seems that it was not cured properly. The BMW paint to be blistering like that is very unheard of. This is not just simple blistering, it may have the "rustberg" right there.
