Recommendations for Engine Oil in Suzuki Swift

I using Suzuki Synthtic oil uptil now and i want to change to something better so what you people recommend ?

10W-40 is the grading of that oil so tell me should i change or not ?
Changing Oil after 5000kms Total millage is around 17000kms uptil now.

bro i have used zic 0w in my swift since last 3 years but switched to LM 5w-40 with ceratic. and i will highly recommend u LM on any other brand except Mobil1...

As advise, never use OW (which is 0w-30) for Suzuki Swift again. This oil is not recommended for that engine.

Waisay, y not stick to sgo??? It is a good oil. I also need a comparison between shell helix hx5 api sn , zic A semi synthetic api sn and sgo ultimate api sm. All are 10w40. I need comparison based on experience. Eg fuel economy, engine sound, drive smoothness etc

Mobil1 5w/50 the perfect brand with the perfect grade. keep the oil change interval between 7-8000/km-hr. You will enjoy the ride, with perfect pick & outstanding engine protection. Many friends of mine have lasted the mileage upto 2 lacs & engine is perfectly fine.

Have experimented with SGO, Hx-5 and PSO carient in my 2010 Alto.
PSO's oil worked best. best mileage and smooth ride.
Although the oil change resulted in a cleaner oil which used to make me suspicious.

Pso oils are good. I agree. The blue dabba 10w40 worked flawless in my 2007 gli

Honestly i dont know. I was a noob then and "jo company daalegi woh best hoga" was my outlook towards car-care
But I can tell you about the mileage and engine performance cx when i switched to shell, i felt a considerable change in engine response and lesser monthly CNG charges

Sir in your previous posts also you are mostly recommending 5w-40 fully synthetic oil.
Well I agree that its best oil in the market that perform well in extreme temperatures and gives better performance too.
But be careful to recommend this oil for the engines which min. need 10w viscosity like Suzuki. It may not be very suitable for such machines which are infact more happy & perform well on older grade mineral oils.

I don't understand why r u recommending an oil with greater low temp viscosity? 5w-40, 10w-40 are same at operating temp but 5w-40 flows better at cold starts and provides better protection at the temp at which most wear and tear occurs.

I think he is right. There is no need for 5w40 nor does suzuki recommend it. 10w40 covers extreme cold and hot temperatures so I think its wise to stick to 10w40
