Recommended Oil grade for Grande 1.8, 20k milage

Dear All,

please suggest the best engine oil Grade for Corolla Altis 1.8 2016 with 20k milage.

Best oils for grande are following
Liqui moly leichtlauf 5w40, I’m using the same with drain interval of 10,000kms
Mobil 1 5w50 or Mobil 1 0w40, my friends are using the same with 10k drain intervals.
These are best of the best nothing is better than these oils in Pakistan. Use only genuine oil filter and go to authorised dealer or distributor which will sell you original oil.

Go for Shell Helix Ultra 5W40. Cheap and excellent oil.

I have been searching for oil for my corolla 2015, its oil change is due at 20k and it is 19100 driven so far. I have selected some oils after searching on internet mentioned below.
1. Shell helix ultra 5w40
2. Mobil super 2000 5w30/10w40
3. Toyota genuine tinpack oil 5w30
Not mentioning ZIC oil because I have read alot of people complaining about its quality. Plus I have searched these oils for normal 5k kms drain interval, if you want to go beyond 5k kms then you should try Liqui moly or Mobil 1.
Still, senior pakwheelers like @haseeb.basharat bhai can guide for selecting the correct and best oil. He already has helped me alot.

I used it in my car for 1500kms, as I thought liqui moly was costly. Worse oil ever, too much engine noise, too heavy for engine, worse coldstarts with engine rattles and dual vvti noises, and noises at high rpms. Purchased from authorised distributor so cannot be fake.
Better go for toyota oils instead of shell helix ultra, they’re bit better than this. It was even worse than toyota taglon 5w50 or toyota petron plus 10w30.

Yaar if you want to stick with 5000kms drain interval than you should go for mobil super 10w40, friend is using it in his reborn from 100,000kms and he said its much better than zic or shell.

Yes bhai, I shortlisted these 3 oils. I read somewhere on pw forums that shells helix ultra is imported and packed locally. Whereas you told that mobil super is locally blended. Want your expert opinion on this.
Whereas there is no reason to reject toyota tinpack oil over these shell and mobil super oils if I find it genuine here in Karachi

Yes, shell helix ultra is imported from qatar and packaged in Pakistan, but I personally had worse experience with it in my car. Even toyota taglon 5w50 is way better than it if you want oil in budget and authentic, mobil super is blended here, but reviews of it are better than shell oils in Pak.
Tinpack of Toyota costs a lot and its better to go for german oils by adding 500-600rupees more instead of that oil.
Cheaper oil: mobil super 10w40or Toyota Taglon 5w50
Expensive oil: toyota tinpack made in japan, liqui moly or mobil1.
Don’t go for shell helix ultra, already wasted 4500 rupees on it including genuine oil filter, and changed it after just 1500kms due to the issues it was giving.

I am really inclined towards mobil because even though it is locally blended, it is made by a reputed company and toyota petron/petron plus are also blended by mobil askari ltd. so there wont me much difference in both oils in terms of quality. Performance on both oils may be different. Isn’t it?
Whereas for that TMO tinpack, someone here on pakwheels told me its price around 3700.

With which filter and drain interval? I am planning to use german oil for my corolla 2012 which is 86.5k driven

Nopes, toyota oils are not blended by mobil askari limited Pakistan. They’re blended somewhere else now so humongous difference can be there in both oils.
Check price of tinpack from dealerships.

I checked petron and petron plus boxes and it is written “BLENDED BY MAL PAKISTAN” pictures attached.
And yes I will call dealership from where I get my car maintained. Let see. If that isn’t available or if it is more than 4k rs so most probably I will be opting for mobil super 2000 5w30 or 10w40

Bro they have discluded old packaging, in old packaging even TAGLON was blended by MAL, but in newer one from February 2017 its someone else. At least on taglon they are printing made in taiwan, and toyota taiwan doesn’t know a thing about it.

Yes you’re correct, Blended in Taiwan was written at the back of Taglon oil when I saw it at a dealership.

Yes, I read review about it on the forum. It used to be good before, when it came in grey packaging.
So most probably will be trying mobil 2000 5w30 or 10w40 this time. Guide me about which grade is better as I read on pakwheels blog that 10w40 is for engines with high mileage whereas my car will have only 20k on the odometer when it’s oil will be changed.

@haseeb.basharat bhai had a bad experience with shell oil. He told about his experience early in this thread otherwise I shortlisted 3 oils
1. Mobil super 10w40/5w30
2. Shell Helix Ultra 5w40
3. Toyota Genuine
