Look into a D17A , still doesn't quiet touch the 150hp mark but its the closest you can get without going to a double cam motor. It's rated at 140hp but won't put out that number if it isn't set up properly.
By properly i mean matched to the appropriate ecu, wired right, mated to the right trans with an okay clutch and with your O2 sensors functioning and your vtec activating (yes it'll need some sorting out to get it functioning right).
Single cam swaps are generally mostly well below 100k.
Double cams start at 150k and can touch 300k when all is said and done.
Since budget is a priority for you i would recommend sticking to a single jingle.
D17 has slightly better low end torque and makes for a better daily driver and has sort of enough power to not feel lacking at all.
Don't expect to keep up with cars with dohc swaps but you'll gap stock d15's and most d16(y7 and y8s)
But it is a sort of unconventional swap despite its popularity as it is from a newer generation car and lots of stuff need sorting and setting up if you want no check engine codes and want it to run flawless.
If you want a genyan swap or engine then D15B vtec is the way to go (this is the one with 2 vtec solenoids and the esoteric unicorn motor our carboys here love for its triple or quadruple or penta vtec).
Jokes aside it has two different vtec activation zones as it is meant to act as a fuel efficient motor at low rpm and provides some performance in the higher rpms (due to the more aggressive second cam phase/zone/profile when that second vtec kicks in).
It also requires less "modifikashan" or changing of stuff completely ( won't go into too many details but basically stuff like you ecu will actually detect your AC is turned on since the AC button in an EK can communicate with the ecu and raise rpm acccordingly using IAC, with a D17 it wont and yeah it'll be an issue like AC will work but your ecu can't know).
A D15B also sits comparatively slightly (an inch and a half i guess) lower in the engine bay so your air filter box won't rub on the hood like with some other motors and you'll get a better center of gravity or at least you should (Don't quote me on that).
If you want power for cheap and don't care too much about efficiency , you can get a b20 swap that is rated at about 160hp and theres on on sale in the Buy exchange category, N2o or something the guy's called.
But those motors are tough to source parts for and I don't have much experience in the non vtec dual cams /ls-swaps.
They take boost well tho since they're low compression incase you have future boosted plans.
Forget any R motor, extremely overpriced and overrated to some extent. Plus unless you "know a guy" you'll get a highhhhhh milage motor which won't be worth it at all.
Best of luck in your journey for more hp in Pakistan without selling your organs , it is a rather unfruitful one unfortunately
