Depends on how much time the denter spends on the car.....any decent denter would like to make 60 to 70,000 in a month. If your car requires him to work for 2 months, thats 140,000/-. This is just an example. My other denter is happy if he makes 15 to 20,000 in a month....I have seen Basit's ground up denting on two VW's and I am not impressed....so for me thats 40,000 wasted that was paid to him. I have no idea about Baber but I have heard he is expansive too....a VWCOP member told me that he starts low and by the time car is ready his charges hit the sky. But I have no idea.
Yes my car did require a lot of work and still does...I dont want 30-40,000 here and there spoil the work. In the long run, thats an irrelevant amount and its not everyday that you strip the car like this. What do you say?
On this car we have used paint remover on certain areas and gas welding flame to burn the paint in some areas. Both are effective and have no adverse effect on the metal provided proper care is under taken. Flame intensity has to be right, just enough to burn the paint. In using paint remover, you have to clean the panel thoroughly with surf/water and emry paper....then leave the car under sun for a few hrs and u r ok. Once the panel is prepared for primer, it is cleaned thoroughly again.
For a classic car requiring a bit of work, Muntazir's quotes are in excess of 200,000/- :).
