We discussed this issue when we were spot welding the spine..Muntazir also suggested that we seal it by welding.....but I opposed it 1) to maintain the original spot welds 2) to keep an option to reopen the spine by the future owner when I am dead as dont see it happening in my life time and 3) silicone should seal it thoroughly over lapped with bitumen based autoshield

but the chassis has come a long way from what it was a few months ago..hasn't it?

body had to be picked up and parked elsewhere in the house to give space to Ford Model A 1028 which is being completed

Trying to complete the chassis and all mechanical work related to it. Since some stuff was missing and some needs to be replaced, I am sourcing parts and not compromising on originality. Thats why its taking a bit of time.

Brakes are done incl all new steel brake pipes and nipples. Front and rear suspension are done except one side spindle which needs to be replaced. Body is at my house waiting to go back on the frame and once thats done, the body work will finished inshallah. Trying to wrap it up in a couple of months....sometimes I run out of cash as other cars have ongoing work which keeps me cash strapped. I am involved in 5 ongoing projects at the same time.....this with a full time office to run my business.

the work is a slowed down due to various reasons.....need to order some engine parts to complete the engine. Chassis is almost complete and is now with me at home. Denter is busy making money for the eid and will start on splitty after eid.....will try and complete by mid october if all goes well.....

atleast it makes you look at it and makes you happy. I love the rear shape of the car, this was the real Beetle which started th Beetle mania worldwide.
