ERRRRR!!!! is it magic or is the splitty really floating in mid air... LOL... looks that way atleast.

must say the splitty has come out real nice though i think i see some dent near the mid back just below the air vents on the right side.

very interesting stuff so far mohsin, i'm so glad the split made it to your driveway when it did or it would have possibly died a horrible death in some back alley in KHI.

thanls guys.....I am back from Peshawar after spending almost a month restoring the Fire Engine which is now done. I need some help with Splitty from my Isb friends.....I need to get a new floor pan made - right hand side. I will call Babar tomorrow and ask him to male one and send it across.

Hope all good at your end. Great to hear of the fire engine number 2 being completed so u may concentrate on the split.

I am pleased to hear that you would be assigning babar to make the floor pan. 

Do update me about what the progress is regarding the engine. I think you can do with some input there.

Splitty work has slowed down....its been done in bits and pieces and I dont like that.

I havent been able to link up with Babar for sending me the floor pan for drivers side i.e. the left side....meanwhile, I got the chassis from Muntazir's shop and brought it home. Had it wire brushed and coated with undercoat. I am getting the mechanic to put it back on the wheels by reinstalling the front and rear suspension, completing the brakes, steering etc. While this is going on, I 'll try and get the floor pan and have Muntazir install that and sibsequently the body back on the frame.

Once the body is bolted back...car will go back to Muntazir for thorough finishing ... lots of parts missing that I would need to source in a short time.

@ Reezvan - thanks...your posts are always useful and informative. Powder coating is good and tough but somehow I find this autoshield better and stronger. The chassis was wire brushed till bare metal....dont have the pics as two days I left home early and came home from office very late so didnt take pics.....so hopefully it is preserved for some decades to come....mechanic will be completing the engine in next two days inshallah and then will get down to the chassis. Lot of brake parts are missing but we are collecting and hopefully by end of this week, we should see considerable progress. keep your posts coming

@ Reezvan...just reread your post and missed your remark about the spot weld on the bulkhead.....apart from a 6 by 8 inch piece underneath and a reinforcement u shaped strip that goes across it, nothing else has been touched....the portion that you have highlighted is original and never seen torch. The middle section underneath the frame / chassis is originally spot welded and thats what we have done spot welding in exactly the same spot that was originally welded....nothing more nothing less......I plan to seal it with black silicon once we are done with the frame... actually what you see at the moment is an effort to save it from further detioration as Muntazir was being impossible to handle....I just picked it up and gave it a 3 days of cleaning inside and out and coating it with autoshield.

on the floor measurements...I have not touched the RH side floor which is still original that came with the car 60 years ago.......all I have done is a little bit of repair work - so got the original measurements in place...however, the diagram will be used and is going to be very helpful as I will certainly check all measurements.....but I am from the old school...before worrying about the measurements or anything I would rather just plop the body on top and bolt it....it should be spot on, if it isn't then I have an issue and measurement tape will be taken out
