And some interesting stuff...
As you know that convertibles are used in different ways by different people...mostly like to sit on the folded hood or boot lid etc (as seen in movies):).But these panels are not desigened to take load and they deform specially on these small british roadsters...
So like this some one sat on the boot lid in the past years of this spit's life resulting in slight bending of the underlying frame..There was a slight gap between the skin of bootlid and underframe.So bootlid skin used to jump up and down with hand pressure....I hope you understand what I am trying to say..
It was not possible to press the frame against the underside of bootlid without deforming it ...
so we decided to fill the gap with sealer compound..(not steel putty)..
