Restoration of Suzuki Alto 800...DONE

I have got a suzuki 800 alto and now i am planning to restore it. I need suggestions regarding its restoration.
i am planning to paint it as new as latest models.
to match the look i am planning to add front grill, side fenders, head lights, brake lights and bumpers all new.
will for its denting and floor patching.
thinking to get new panels, new door locks
rubbers for all doors.

more suggestions are required from you guys.

got hands on this project thought to start is first. after this i have to restore FX which was pakistan's first FX. my dada ji own it. i have posted pics in pakwheels too.
u can check pakistan frist FX in search forums.

lets see how much success i get in this project.

yar eid se pehlay gari ready kerni hai is waja se pehlay isay prep ker raha hoon.
charade is every ready to hit the road, only prob with it is i have to change its few things whic are running perfectly but need to put new ones.
so what do u think which things i should add in it?

i have helped some friends on two restoration projects in the past so i dont have alot of experience. i think that when it comes to this stuff is that the best way to do it is to completely gut the car and start from scratch.

depending on how bad the condition is...rust etc...take everything out...including the floor carpet...clean the interior...exterior...underneath...with a high power wash..check for rust spots....get rid of rusted panels and peices....

usually...body panels like the fenders or rear quarter panels have dual layred with sheet metal...so take a note of that...im not sure if an fx would have dual sheets but u can check.

im guessing that u have to do from scratch..hence the suggestion...u have to give more dettails.

I have asked the denter to take out all seats, carpets mats etc and gave him fender for left side right one was fine.
he will remove the previous paint and patene then he will work on its floors, dent out each and every part of body wehre needed. then he will start the paint job.
this is not FX its Alto 800 earlier version of mehran. its japanese 800cc car.

planning to make it convertible with extended bumpers but dost nahin maan raha, even suggested him to add sun roof in it.
dirt price is under 100k nowadays but its luck if u find it this cheap though aaj kal mitti buhat mehngi hai defence mein 1000k se ooper hai

convertible kit for its dimensions will cost 35k a leather one average.

sun roof will cost 6k including labor.

@Beeberg...Kiani is the man to help you with regard to Suzuki. Restoring a suzuki alto/mehran should be easy as all parts are available new and cheap too. Floor pans, engines, lights, interior stuff...you name it and every thing is available.

Dont make it a Convertible....I repeat Dont, It wont look good.

i have noted down the prices which you have mentioned. i purchased side fender it costed me 300, it would be desi type but the whole mehran is desi one

got new both bumpers and both pairs of lights including grill, now going to get new locks, rubbers for frames all over it.
what about new steering how much will that cost?
need to get channels for all windows.

i have asked the denter to clean the whole thing scratch out all paint and then show us the metal.after that he will apply paint. what do u suggest?

i am not making it convertible but belive me by lowering its suspesnion and few changed in doors would have given it a start beauty by making it convertible.
meray haath lagi aik koi aisi alto to u will see the idea in my mind with extended bumpers (not only downwards but width wise too

Day one ended,

DAY 2

we handed over the car next day and in evening when i came to check i found it in this way.

all the seats lights, bumpers, fender, trill were taken out including door locks etc.
and process of scratching the paint was started.
he fixed one of the fender which was purchased new.

its really easier to make a car new in budget, everything is readily available.
