oh how you are mistaken...most restorations are done by those who love the car and most drive them quite frequently...some even daily!! The rebuilding process for these cars goes deeper than the superficial eye can see...you force in 17inch rims on your ride...thats your level of love...a restoration begins when one takes the car as an extension of ones self...not just a commodity...i wouldnt expect you to understand...

As far as the part about "junk" goes...i believe the cars history speaks volumes contrary to your view...from the Sahara to Alaska, the car has done it all...and as recently proven, still can...lets see you cross babusar in that car if yours...better still...lets see you do it in 30 years time when the ages of both cars match...then vl decide what classifies as "junk"

if murtaza is building a ride and sharing the process with fellow enthusiasts, a process with which you disagree obviously, ignore the thread and move on...dont spoil it for him...more importantly, dont diss his ride!!

In my close freinds I had a show-off type too, and his love was cell phones, so till today whenever we meet - we refer to all cell phones as adrak..

Totally agree...no matter how hard you try, junk would remain junk.

Volkswagens on the other hand are precious metal. They appreciate with age.

I am not sure what car you drive but if it is not a Volkswagen I am pretty sure it won't be around when this odd shaped car would still be turning heads.

I would only partially agree with you re. show case restorations comment. Some restorations do merit a show case status due to the nature of the project, however most enthusiasts enjoy driving their restored classics - from daily drivers to weekend grocery getters. I try not to drive mine in rain if I can help it but I just did a 1600 km trip in my 1960 beetle, part of it in rain. Its appreciating the value of my own hard work and the love for the car that I spent a couple of hours cleaning, washing, drying and waxing the car after the trip..ready for a new challenge!

UPDATES

Suspension: The front suspension beam is on, so are the tie-rod ends and ball joints.

Brakes: The front and rear brake drums are on, the rear brake lines have been installed. The front brake drum lines will be installed within a couple of days.

Steering box: The complete assembly is on and is so far so good, the OEM steering wheel is on aswell.

Pedal assembly: It was installed a few days ago, but it'll have to be taken out again for a recheck and for the installation of the acclerator and clutch cable.

Stuff pending: The front suspension beam hydraulic shock foundation bolt and nut is missing, need to get OEM wheel nuts, need to get the exhaust packing, brake switch, brake master cylinder nozzle is required aswell as the brake master cylinder rubber seal.

P.S: Pictures will be uploaded within a few days.

You are restoring your ride because it requires restoration.But honestly it's not a classic at all.One can see Beetles lying abandoned all around the world and classics are never treated in such a manner only junk is.And honestly classics don't cost 50k to 100k.They cost a lot.Classic cars are hardly available on sale.Even if they are they cost a lot.For example a Jaguar E-Type.This comes no where near a classic.Not at all practical and is like burning you money driving it.A gas guzzler with hideous design.

You can't force me to like anything jerk.I hate this piece of junk.There are better classy cars in Pk.This car is a roadside junk lying at almost every other car maintenance shop eating dust as people think restoring it would be a shear waste of money.As i mentioned earlier a classy won't be lying abandoned in such a manner.
