The color has been finally chosen, Alfa Romeo 342 Blu Francia which will be blended with black to give that dark look. Then a chemical will be added to give that final dull 'matte' finish.

Good to see some pictures on this thread. Not a pretty sight though, poor bug has sat far too long with Uncle Harry. Push him to "do more" - in strictly American way

About the undercarriage...I am not really amused by the paint job to be honest. I would have preferred powder coating of all the bits AFTER removal from the car.

Thanks, he is trying his best. Once the green signal has been given uncle Harry won't take much time to complete his given task. I know, powder coated under carriage would have been just be perfecto.

Honestly, I just want to get it on the road ASAP. It'll go through a complete professional level restoration after a couple of years of using it.

Lol, thank you very much. Sorry to hear about pearl, I hope she gets back up and running soon. Yes, Mr.Reezvan is right. But, right now I have one goal in mind. To get it on the road ASAP. Thanks once again for the comments

Sindhi Muslim Society, near Eaton. It's in the ally of Bandoo Khan, it's parked on the roadside as their isn't much space to park in it around the workshop.

Yes, well I have changed more than two denters and two painters that is one of the reason why this restoration is going so slow. The previous denters and painters took money and ran away.

Anyways, thanks for the comment yes the color is very nice. This would make it the second matte VW Beetle in PK.

The remaining mechanical stuff is as follows:

• Engine fitting and testing
• Suspension fitting and testing
• Brake master fitting and testing
• Front brake lines fitting
• Gear shifter fitting

I went to the workshop yesterday, the painter has told me it'll be completely primered from the exterior by Monday max and the engine bay portion would be painted aswell by then.

After that, the mechanic would start his task which he said won't take more than 5-6 days. Let's see what happens, hoping for the best.

before lifting the engine into place, insulate and sound deaden the engine room. The entire rear panel is accesible. Thick jute stuck with thick aluminium foil and clipped onto place works nice.

Jute with aluminium foil would do good for sound deadening. I bought a insulation tar board made exactly for the VW RR layout engine bay, got it from @AsadIshtaque quite a while back. It has three pieces one for the center, one for the left side and one for the right. Would take pictures of on my next trip to the workshop.

There are some dynamat dealers in Pakistan, get the whole thing dynamatted - nothing beats it. It will cut out engine noise by more than half.

The first base coat is on the engine bay has been painted the dashboard and door parts have been primered. So has the roof and surrounding parts such as the rear seat area, rear wheel inner arches, front driver and passenger dashboard base and pedal assembly area. Here are the pictures with captions.

B.t.w which is the first matte VW Beetle?? The Black Volks Rod which recently restored in Khi??

The above mentioned details are showing that remaining mechanical work is not as much time taking,, so now it seems as nearest to get finish because all the fitting work is left not any sort of repairing or replacement...
