Restoration story of my Spitfire convertible

hmm i am interested in this particular restoration, want to have some professional approach/idea to restore my '73 MKII's glove box [:-)]

Sure brother....just watch what we do.It may give you an idea to play with Mk2's glove box..

Another (lower side) view of driver's side glove box...The padded bar which you can see in the front is mounted between "A" post and the middle of dash board.It supports the glove box from front side as well as tie up the dash board with "A" post ,minimizing the vibration of the dash...
you will see this setup in coming pics...

Passenger side repaired (as much as we could) glove box with its front mounting bracket...

i am so loving this project, i must say that its nothing but the insanity which lead you till this point......... HATS OFF to you sir... i would really like to have a look at this gem in real.....

Both glove boxes fit something like this in the car....

Front bracket is attached with the help of rivets in the holes visible...

We decided to use red one to make these glove boxes in duplicate...I mean 4 pieces for both cars...blue was hibernating :)....

Passenger side padded front bar in place....
Notice that it is attaching the "A" post with bash board...as I said before giving support to the glove box as well as strengthening the dash board..

Raees trying to repair it a little more with needle and thread...

It was made from a sort of card board......after aging ,very fragile....breaking by even touching carefully...

Anyhow...managed to repair with my help....

By the way...blue spitfire doesn't have these front padded bars....missing:(
Another panel of dashboard is also missing and here it is.....
All these things belong to Red one....
Either we will have to import them or make them here by forging in aluminum...we'll see later..
