ye abhi tak zinda hai ?
????What are you talking about dear...can't get you...Are you talking about me or the car....ALHAMDOLILLAH "dono abhi tak zinda hain"...lolzzzYou don't want it this way????
@karakoram....Still waiting for your "valuable" reply....
I think that this thread is "ONLY" suitable for "like minded people".....The people who have interest in classic cars....The people who value old classic cars and don't think that they are pieces of junk. The worth of a classic car can only be evaluated by a classic car lover......a normal/common motorist is not able to appreciate or evaluate this stuff.people spend years in restoring their favorite classic and a lot of pain in sourcing the parts plus a good amount of money and all that....But a common motorist wouldn't understand all this...
Mind your language mister !
Agree with you Rehman Bhai.. This thread is certainly not suitable for all motorists, this is only meant for Classic Cars Enthusiasts. Please continue with the updates, there are alot of silent readers like me who lack time for posts but still are keen to know about the updates on such projects.
+1
I must say that you have no right to pass such comment for an enthusiast like Rehman Bhai.Try doing something with only one piece of your car, like he has done with perfection. I bet you will not be close. Moreover you didnt answered to his questions. Your 'bachpana' is quite visible. At least, I expect an apology from your side to Rehman bhai.
very rude of him. karakoram should say sorry for such remarks. spitfire is working extremely hard and sharing such interesting moments with us. if anybody doesnt like he should immediately quit this thread.
:(:(
One can not stop a stupid person from opening his mouth and let us all know about his ignorance!
Rehman bhai don't take it serious, we can expect one "ganda anda" from thousands of visitors of this thread.
@spitfire Well i am also one of ya silent reader among thousands.. and that idiot must hav say sorry for his shameful act.. u r not only restorin a classic but also teachin us with alot ov stuff.. and thats one of its kind project in Pakistan.. though unique..
@skysedan....Thank you so much dear for following this thread....This thread has gone quite long...much longer than expected...Basically keeping/making these classic cars is a hobby and nothing else. You know hobby is something which you do in your spare time...a source of relaxation...at least for me But dear there are other commitments too...:(...Being perfectionist, try to capture as much details as possible.....another source of delay.....Anyhow working on blue one during the HOLY month of Ramazan...trying my best to bring it on the road before Eid...lets hope for the best.....Obliged for bearing with me...
Salamz Brothers...More updates here....Started assembling the glove box with the pieces cut out of hard board and angle iron...You can see a hinge in the following pic...interesting story...Actuallt the front lip of the glove box which was bolted with the front steel/padded member had a little bend in it....like glove box was fitted a little tilted at the back.As I told you that original one was made with a card board type structure,so there was no problem for these type of bends. But we were making something rock solid....no chance for any bending...So I decided to attach front lip with the help of a hinge to get any amount of bend required...Don't worry...its under the glove box,not visible.
Partially assembled...you can see that "innovative":)hinge idea more clearly in this pic...also note the "zakhmi" original front panel lying on the ground....
Flat head screws were used...flushing neatly with the hard board...we also "tapered" the holes for proper seating of the bolts....
cutting another piece of hinge for a small tilted panel ....
Attaching the small side panel with the box...
And it came out something like this...back side view....note that angle iron is bent to achieve the desired angle to fix these two panels....quite difficult because its hard...broke a couple of pieces..
Hmm,inside view...with the front steel/padded panel installed...this steel panel is fixed straight with the dash board and box is fixed a little tilted...to accommodate the fitting, this hinge idea was used...
Now trying to fit the "final version" of passenger side glove box in place...
