After using engine flush? Is it necessary to change Oil filter also?

I had sent my car to Honda classic with driver from oil change and handed him the Liqui moly engine flush and told the serviceman on phone to pour it in the engine and let the car only idle for 10 minutes and drain the oil. and today I came to know while looking at receipt that oil is change but oil filter is not changed :@.
I even told the stupid driver to get it's oil filter changed but I guess he forgot. Now I'm worried is it going to harm the car? Car has done nearly 700km now on new oil. what do you suggest?

The choice of engine oil (10/50) doesn't seem very suitable either.
Some companies has made similar oils 10/50, 10/60, 20/60 for racing cars where these oil builds high pressure in engine.

The car is only 20K done, means new. So 5/30 oil would be most suitable for the change interval of 5~6K.
For longer intervals, choose 5/40. But don't forget to change the both filters after 3~4K.

I have followed this thread, it seems you are a marketing person promoting specific brands. Are you a mechanical engineer?

If not then, you should keep your personal experience to yourself and not guide people as you are not qualified to do so.

hmm - this is called case of "extreme paagalpan"

with any sort of flush - you change the filter too. You dont want the flush to be trapped in the engine.

I have Total authorize distributor shop nearby, I want to know whether total lubricants are good choice for Altis?
Especially if someone has experience with 5w30 than share!!!!

I have the same car, 2010 model. I have been using the Total Quartz 9000 since 10k. I opted for it due to its viscosity range, being fully synthetic and renowned brand. I think its made/packed in Singapore.

I replace oil & filter every 5k.

I trust local brands over the imported ones because these local companies are always on the look out for counterfiet products. buy it from company operated pump in Gulberg.

Dude - the manual becomes "used and not jenyan untouch" if you open it up and read it. - Lowers the resale about 10,000 Rs.

He gave a good advice, I don’t see anything wrong with it. I had been using 10w-50 on iDSi and felt hard starting, immediately once car would switch to cng then would stop. So now changing it with 5w-30 has resolved the issue.

He is giving an advice, if you are looking for facts then open books. I see no point for your passing a judgmental comment as people use forums for an advice and asks advice from other.

No. he is not giving advice, rather promoting specific imported brands and condemning local products with out specific knowledge. Most importantly, he is suggesting drain intervals on whim.

Agreed, that this is the purpose of the forum but one should advise others if one has specific knowledge as you may lead to loss of asset.

As regards to my last statement, its generalized comment about so called gurus on PW.

after 5k does ur oil get completly finished and has burning smell etc or it still got some visocity in it? have u notice when geting oil change

Am studying oils indeed and try to spread the awareness among many gentlemen. Here majority of us have mind set of havoline or zic hiflo without knowing the actual functioning or latest characteristics or what their engine needs infact. Majority of our brothers just put the manual aside and start pouring havoline 20/50 or zic 20/50 in new cars. My brother runs oil shop and we have many examples everyday. Sometimes it feels easy to move the mountain rather than convincing someone to feed better oil to his car.

Yesterday a gentleman came with Alto 2008/09 model and was using zic hiflow & havoline since day one. We suggested him to use SIM3 which is semi synthetic oil, have same viscosity as others, has more latest grade than others, has more longer change interval than others, and has better properties/characteristics etc.etc. We gave him 15 min. lecture and after that he said plz pour havoline this time and I will try something else next time. And we know next time he will go to some other place for oil change.
Moral: You try to give right advice to the people and people start thinking -ve about you.
Hope you get the point.

yes - oil change is required - but do it about 1000 kms early and drain the engine when its hot.

But actual performance is noticed when the oil comes out from the engine at the time of oil change. Performance also observed during driving, from its fuel consumption, etc. etc.

Example, I just checked these specs and compared it with LM.
Bother are more or less same.
But LM oil performance of same viscosity oil is far ahead than total.

or he will think that we are recommending this oil because we are having more margines from it and want to purchase Mina-e-Pakistan or intended to buy home in bharia town.

I think Honda is the only company which is loyal towards its customers in recommending oil. They are using loal brand in their packing everyone know. They have 3.7 ltr packing so we can buy one bottle. Suzuki is also using local oil but in 4 lts packing but cultus use 3.5lts. Toyota has 4 and 1 lts bottles but corolla use 4.2 liters. In bikes when honda genuine oil bottle was not introduced, honda recommend Havoline. and make deal with caltex to pack havoline in 0.7 liter pack also with five star 0.7 bottle. atleast honda has packed product in right quatity instead of changing bottle packing only.
