RZ's Road Tour Karachi~Islamabad~Lahore~Karachi (Dec 09 ~ Jan 10)

it was fun going thru ur thread , one reason i enjoyed it coz i made the same kind of trip from Karachi to Islamabad and then to murree , so it just reminded of my own trip.
As i was going through your thread i also came to know that you are again planning the trip , well when ??? and now what kind of trip will it be , either on same route or different ?
I am going on my next big trip in March 2012 , like in almost 3 months- From karachi to islamabad in my car then i have to get to the upper northern areas from where i have to enter kashgar china.
I want to get the powerful bulbs for my headlites as i am having issues with the one i have even after relays. HID is a good option but it wont be good on highway as it cause difficulty for the drivers coming on the other side.
If someone can advise me regarding headlights that will be highly appreciated.
RZ again some words for you , that excellent work done on ur thread , Like a reporter covering every aspect of a trip, u should apply for NAT- GEO

I am thankful to you for viewing this thread and for your kind appreciation:).

Time limitations and some other circumstances didn't allow me to take my family on entire road tour again :(. This means we adopted air travel till Lahore and so on.

I wish you all the best with your upcoming 'Mission March 2012'. Which car are you using or intend to use for this tour? As for your lights problem, auto-electrician Nazim of Tariq Road (0300-3566310) will be able to sort it.

Please do share your experience on Pakwheels.

U can call me Khurram , saheb acha nahi lag raha :D, anyways I took my 1998 mehran at that time and it was a perfect ride. I started it on 2nd April 0800 am . I love driving and i always wanted to make such kind of trip.
This time i will be using old swift modified , Hoping to get the better roads in sindh. The main thing that is bothering me is the CNG loadshedding so I have to prepare and plan well this time for the availability of CNG.
Will also be applying for a china tourist visa for entering in Kashgar. Friends will be accompanying me.
I hate sukkur Police, they stops you and try to get the money out , thank to my press card that they let me pass after some words exchange.
Last time on my way back i got two challans for overspeeding, one at Islamabad motorway and other one n Multan Highway. that i paid !
I also noted one thing that there are maximum number of tolls in punjab as compared to sindh, I paid 750 rs for these toll taxes , wow na

Well i cant wait for the new trip as i already planned a lot .

The road situation in Sindh province has worsened. What modifications have you done with your Swift? Hope your headlights issue is resolved by now.

Actually this post is MUCH BETTER than the usual Kaghan, Naran, and Northern Areas trips, because your trip shows the 90% of actual Pakistan the most people live in. It becomes really boring to see the same usual Northern Areas in the 99.99% of the trips that are posted on this website. Pakistan is much more than just only the Northern Areas, true those are beautiful areas but the rest of Pakistan with all its diversity is also Beautiful. Thanks again for posting and re-freshing view of Pakistan and not the Usual Kaghan, Naran stuff, was getting sick of seeing that all the time. Those Northern areas are specially boring if you live in the same type of cold snowy areas in other parts of the world.

I salute your passion of presenting positive image of Pakistan , probably you are the one among very few members (no offence to@LIBRA and his fellow 4*4 riders) who dare to take thrill of long drive from Karachi all the way up .
Its being quite boring to see ever increasing number of forums relating to KAGHAN valley , But your forum is still interesting to visit.
The thing I found pretty much better in your forum is precise details, along with very comprehensive photo bank, that lets the viewer to become part of your journey.

I am encouraged with your words, and thankful to you.

As for positive image of Pakistan, I feel myself responsible for the current situation our country is facing. At least I can use social media and describe that our country is much more than the 'Malala and Taliban' story. My experience about majority of our country's population is love, hospitality and frankness.

Thank you again. You are forcing me to share another of my many other travel experiences within the country. Actually this sharing activity is very time consuming and affects other routine activities, and thus making me unable do the same.

You should skip Multan and take Khanewal bypass from Lodhran.
