Hey guys,

So it's time to upgrade my old plasma TV & i'm thinking of replacing it with a 5 series Samsung LED. I've been doing some research & have decided to settle for the 40F5000, since i don't need the smart TV features so this one has the best price/performance ratio for me.

Shophive has it listed for 62k.

Homeshopping has it listed for 60k.

Which one of these places would you guys recommend buying from? Or can you guys recommend a local shop in Islamabad that might have this TV in stock for the same price?

I checked on the local samsung website & this TV hasn't been launched by them officially yet. I'm also worried about buying a fake/copy TV since i've heard there's a lot of those around nowadays.

I have 40 EH5000 and its very good.Bought it 2 months ago for 62k i bought it from a local shop

Yeah this is the same television but the new 2013 model. It's slightly slimmer than the older version.

Samsung Bahria is the best. I surveyed from Islamabad to Metro and Saddar, their prices were lowest. I bought a 46 6 series 3D LED for 113K and Samsung home theater for 30K.

samsung is ever gr8 pic quality as well as in sound too. I myself enjoying 40eh5000 ...... its gr8 but beware b4 purchasing bcz now a days fake led's are also avaialable as samsung in Pakistan is under ORIENT, so be sure to claim for warranty card which is included in box with orient warranty...

Why Don't U Go For Sony? But If U Wan't To Go For Samsung Buy From Shophive They Are More Reliable And Better.

Samsung 40 inch led is of lowest specs. Go to some display center and see the performance side by side. I have never liked 40 inch led without smart options of samsung. Better go with sony peace of mind. Or high end samsung smart tv.

I am having Samsung 5 series LED Tv model UA40D5030, i would recommend you to buy it, probably one of the slimmest LED (Pic below) and great result + features as well. I bought it around a year back for 65000rs (without warranty) from lahore, if you want i can give you the number of that guy, his prices are much lower then market. And the Tv's he sell are original, not fake copies.

Isn't Sony Better In LED Than Samsung, And IMO Sony Is Better Than Samsung In Each And Every TV Including Smart.

Shophive is he most expensive website in Pakistan I have experienced over the years.

Yesterday my father-in-law came and said your tv is better, he has a Sony Bravia.

Samsung is the worlds biggest display maker and also has shares in Sony Display department i think that explains pretty much which is better

Samsung whatever but if you compare the cheapest models and high-end models of Sony and Samsung, Sony wins in all aspects in LEDs.

Although I have Samsung LCD purchased during last glory days of LCDs ending and LEDs beginining. And I will and say again bring your SAMSUNG LEDs and see the difference in QUALITY. I have been watching/buying Samsung LEDs for friends and trust me you will regret these low-cost models of Samsung LEDs just compare these with couterpart Sony thats it.

well sony use samsung/sony joint venture displays but to drive display u need hardware+software in which sony leads(BRAVIA).

Thanks everyone for the input. I'll see if i can find a shop where i can compare both Samsung & Sony side by side. I want to buy it this coming week, so not much time to decide.

EDIT: Just checked prices for Sony & the 40EX650 is around 90k, so that's definitely out of my range. Not looking to spend more than 70k at the moment.

I bought someone a 5 series Samsung from Peshawar, I would recommend you to go for 46 inch, that was 79K. The the fun of watching movies and sports on 46 inch is WOW! Only go for samsung, its the leading brand in LEDs now.

I'm from peshawar, so i know that the TV's there are much cheaper than the market. I'm just worried about picking up a fake one. How can you find out if it's fake or not?

REMEMBER THE GENUINE SAMSUNG TV'S ARE NOW UNDER THE WARRANTY OF ORIENT GROUP OF COMPANY IN PAKISTAN

I my self a victim of non genuine samsung led which was a malaysian version the shop keeper said its warranty card doesn's include in the box where as i reconfirmed from the samsung outlet. As the version comming in Pakistan is under orient warranty a leading brand of pakistan.

Bro if you are looking for Budget 40" LED TV (with no smart features), get the Sony 40EX430 from official Sony Outlet, Its available here for Rs.64k.. I surveyed the market for about a week, thoroughly checked Samsung Eh5000 LED, Samsung 43" plasma and Sony LED, and felt the picture quality on the Sony EX430 quite superior, its having more realistic colors as compared to its counterpart, the features are same, also to note down, Samsung does Panel Lottery.
But yeah Samsung makes one of the best 3D Smart TVs!
