Self takes load when engine is hot

i am having problem starting my car when its a little hot like driven for 2 or more Kms when engine is a bit warm the self sometimes takes load (jaise ke battery khatam ho aur self lo to self ghut ta ha waisay) and i have problem starting the car and sometimes its normal is there a problem with car's self battery is new and its working fine any suggestions do my car's self need service ? car is suzuki mehran 98

If car is hot then self will kinda jam. so make sure first why car is getting hot . either radiator is not working well or problem with fan or water is leaking. if above said is ok. then service ur self.

check the ignition timing , timing belt become lose when it gets old and thus ignition timing goes off ,

Have u checked the timing from distributor? Some time cng walas abnormally advance the cars to almost maximum so that car runs better on CNG ONLY.
This could cause the starter to struggle while cranking the engine when it is hot (optimum temp). During struggle the strater become sluggish.

sirf yeh 2 kaam check karwa lo bas
1- self ko service karwa k bush waghera dalwa lo
aur 2 - kisi electrician se yeh check karwa lo k kahin se current leak to nahi ho raha,
2 second mai masla samnay aa jaye ga

thanks for your suggestions guys will check with an electrician because timing belt has been recently changed . other thing remaining is self service and bushes.

I've recently purchased Honda Civic 1984, with new engine installed in 2008 and again repaired 3 months back. The car is all OK and gives smooth drive just facing following 2 problems.

1. The car used to get overheated, but I got the radiator cleaned, now its heat gauge continuously rises slowly as I continue to drive, until I switch off the engine and let it get cooled up.

2. The self takes load and does not work when the engine is hot, I replaced the self with a Kabuli one, but of no use. Once the engine is switched off and is completely cooled then self works smoothly. I'm using 50amp battery is it ok or should I purchase 80amp battery?

Please answer following questions:

1. Radiator is using coolant as liquid - ?
2. Cooling fans are running automatic - ?
3. Thermostat valve in place - ?
4. When was last oil filter change - ? Odometer reading - ( not months or days )
5. what does new engine mean- ? swapped from yard or NEW from Honda? -
6. repaired 3 months back - ? what job is performed & which parts been replaced

for prognosis please answer above for suggesting a correct prescription

After having read this thread,i have concluded that,there is no electrical problem in this vehicle except engine is still getting over heated because of some reasons,it may be because of a weak head gasket or pitted mating surface of head & engine block.However,make sure radiator fan rotatation in correct ditrection(Air should be thrown on engin side),proper engine oil circulation,specified valve clearance,correct igntion & valve timing etc,...........

2. Fan is Direct.

The fan direction is correct, mechanic said everything is ok, the engine does not gets over heated immediately, but the heat guage rises continuously, also I have observed that somtimes when the speed is high the guage drops...

What about radiator fins,if it has got damaged or clogged then it could be happened that at higher speed engine cool down and at low speed got over heated.

Can be too advanced ignition timing(if u r facing prob on petrol)

Dear Members I'm really thankfull to all of you, this is really good that you people are helping the persons with less mechanical knowledge like me.

I'm uploading the picture of my car's heat guage, this is the maximum where it reaches and does'nt rise any farther. I drove the car for around 10km during rush hours in 1 - 2 transmission and then stayed in the long q of CNG and did not turn off the car.

This was the maximum heat up my car reached, now what du people think the actual problem will be. Today I will change the battery of my car too because the electrician said the battery is weak thats y the car does not start while it is hot...

Which car are we talking about here?

It can be worn out self bushes or weak battery. I was having a similar problem with my City, it woudltn crank when hot and one day the battery died. I replaced it and the problem has not repeated it self eversince.

I think the needle at 60% is just normal. What you see is the gradual rise and that is wrong. The direct fan, no TS valve is not letting your car to get to the normal operating temperature sooner.

Experts! Please guide the poster. For older cars, mechanics don't suggest TS valve and auto fan... please comment.

My opinion: If you make the auto fan circuitry and switch reliable enough, then go for it. On auto fan, I think thermostat valve is OK to use as it will be closed until the fan turns on. Just make it working and reliable. Your engine will be happy like this.
