Is this a joke? Khyber can maintain speed of 140km/h easily, if tuned wisely.

@sbdanish911, Check vacuum secondary for proper operation.

The timing cover of my Khyber is making an annoying noise when I accelerate the car in first gear. First I thought that the new timing belt is too tight, so got it loosened a bit but the sound is still there.The cover touches the crankshaft pulley or generator belt. Mechanic has checked it by removing ac and crankshaft pulleys and there was no noise. I bought a new cover for Rs. 400/- (local one) and it start touching the timing bearing. Within no time the new cover was damaged and I had to fit the old one which is also in bad condition. Now I am searching for a genuine cover but it is not available anywhere. Anyone faced such issue?

What is this vaccum secondary ??
Are you refering to those vaccum pods ??
All of them are disconnected.

I have faced same kind of issue with local timing belt covers.(thanks to the mechanic who broke the orignal cover while replacing the timing belt)..
Mechanic did some thing and fitted in some spacers to gap the cover properly and that worked.
Previously i have wasted two covers the same way.

Yup agreed..
Even my khyber with worn out engine is still able to maintain 130 KM/H easily. When the car was new it did 165 KM/H on motorway could have gone further but we slowed down.

My Khyber never touched anything above 140 kmph on a plain road.
Also when the meter of my Khyber is showing 120 kmph, the speed on GPS is 108 kmph. Using 165/70 R12
Have you compared your car's speed with a GPS?

Back in 2004 when we did that 165 KM/H we didn't have anything to verify that speed.
But the speedo in my Khyber is pretty accurate while going at 120 KM/H on speedo GPS shows 118 KM/H.
My car tyres are also 165/70R-12 ATM but in 2004 i think car was running at it's stock tyre size 145/80R12.

All the pods are disconnected, I don’t know how this thing is even working.
Can someone label them, which pod is for what purpose, I want to readjust this carburettor to stock.

All the vacuum line's are not in place.
I think so distributor vacuum advance pipe would also be removed hence your car is not able to perform good.
At post no.4276 of this thread information regarding vacuum line's was shared you can sort the line's out by checking that.
Also in picture's looks like someone has broken the solenoid for electrical load idle up and also the AC load idle up vacuum diaphragm is missing in your car and electrical load idle up vacuum diaphragm is also removed.. ...

Ok thanks sir, will I have to source a new carburettor, or can this thing be repaired to its stock condition ?

This is repairable.
You will have to find vacuum pods for electrical load idle up and AC load idle up.
Rest get some good quality vacuum line's and make all the new line's.

@sbdanish911, search this topic what ever your problem is, you will find lots of information.
I think your carburetor also required a full service, bcz its not looking good in pictures. Go checked it by some professional.

This 20 year old car can perform better than todays cultus, you just need to revert every thing back to stock. And beware of such so called mechanics.

Keep in mind, every part have some mean in your car, company is not ----- MAD.

For new Suzuki parts you can go to Saddar Rawalpindi and visit the following shops
1) Waseem Autos
2) Koh e Noor Traders
3) Potohar Autos

All three of them are located in close vicinity of each other.
Compare the products and prices. Usually Waseem is a bit pricier as it is famous and located on the main.

For Machinist and suspension work, I visit Akbar Market Near Marheer chowk. Its around 1 Km from Waseem autos.
The shop name is Madina Engineering and he has all the machines and skilled labour.
