Check if you find original khyber's used (kabli) heat gauge in good condition.

There was some "jugaar" done by the meter mechanic when i got its bulbs changed previously and he installed 4 more bulbs in the meter without my permission and that too of white color. i was trying to change those bulbs from white to green after bearing it for 5 years. i changed the bulbs to green and the meter looks like brand new and the color its giving is the beautiful green which is the original color of kyber meter. But during that chalaki that blunder happened. Tomorrow i will go to him again to try to get it calibrated if it's possible at all, if not then i will try to find the heat gauge of khyber.

His shop was closed so i replaced the following parts today.
1. CV joints by sherry as recommended by fellow pakwheelers.
2. 555 ball joints n control arm kit (local)
3. 555 Tie rod ends (local)
4. changed all the boots and rubbers except of balance rod/anti roll bar bushes.
5. Wheel alignment and camber adjusted.
6. Flushed the radiator water
7. Gas cylinder cleaned, it had alot of oil and water in it. and had so much pressure that it ruined the look of a newly washed car as i was sprayed on it with much pressure.

BUT but but when i was driving back home i still heard the sound of ball joint or control arm type thing whenever the car passed over a small pot hole. could it be the sound of balance rod bushes with were not replaced as the mechanic told me they are in good shape. Will go to the meter guy tomorrow and to the mechanic again the day after tomorrow. Please advice me which parts should be checked for this sound.

I will get its suspension checked the day after tomorrow and will repair or replace whichever part is required to be changed. I have also painted the brake lights and number plates domes white as advised by @Xulfiqar. Will add a halogen bulb as a reverse light. And then the body work and bumper adjustment will start. My car doesn't need much of a bodywork but a small piece of body panel will be replaced. Then i will change front two tires as one pair is in good shape. And then other things like sound system, carpet type mats and other small stuff. And at the end my favorite.....the detailing.

Maybe the sound is from steering box. Does your mechanic repair the steering box also.

Yes the steering assembly was taken out and its boots were changed and filled with grease and it was checked completely. It may be its sound but how to check it bcz the sound of clicking only comes when car passes over small tiny potholes just like we face when we cross bridges but no sound when it falls into deeper pothole. These type of clicking and squeaking sounds make me crazy. Mechanics tell me you shouldn't drive your old cars just drive corolla and sell this one bcz u get obsessed with rattles and squeaks. This car was neglected for 4 years just bcz i had a newer car but my love for khyber just came back again after reading this very forum, lol, thanks to @smijaz.

If it's just clicking noise then it might be comming from steering column OR U-joints(known as steering cross).
That clicking noise could also be from front brake pads if their anti-rattle clips are not present..
If it's like heavy dug dug noise then it's from ball joints..
BTW how the lower control arm bolts were tightened with car up in air or with car lowered on it's own weight..
If they were tightened with the car in air then their bushes will crack soon..
Also use Silicone grease on the bushings or if they are hard just change them do not use any other grease or oil on rubber bushes only use Silicone grease.

It is just a clicking noise. And yes the left front brake was squeaking so he removed the clip which is behind the brake shoe as it was rusty and he didn't ask me to bring a new one and i think i've found the culprit, thanks to you. The car was lifted and two stands were placed on the front side of the car and all the work was done like that. Should i get the bolts loose again and get them tighten again while the car stands on it own weight? I told the mechanic to put silicon grease but he said normal grease will do just fine no need to waste money, i tried to argue with him but then my father vetoed against me, so i had to keep quiet.

With normal grease bushes just wear out prematurely they detoriyate at a much faster rate than normal..
Yup it would be better to get those bolts loosen up a bit shake the car a little and then tight those bolts again with the car on ground on it's own weight.

Mechanics love to throw away such parts, which were installed after a long research by company. And proudly say its not needed now...

Thousands of likes for @smijaz and other seniors for start and contributing in this forum. I did restore my Khyber back to its original shape and performance by reading this forum and most of the work is done by myself.

That is all because of this forum and the post's by some senior member's that i started working on my car and did many thing's the correct way which were done wrong by all these stupid hathora mechanic's... Otherwise few year's back i knew nothing about any car....

It took me 2 weeks to read the forum completely and couldn't understand alot of topics in the forum specially the electric and dashpot type things. I opened the meter and ruined it, i think doing things with my own hands is out of my league, for now atleast. I am going to start reading this forum from start again.
One more query is that i'm going for shocks and springs work the day after tomorrow, should i place the original springs and kyb shocks in the back? I have 50kg cng cylinder in the back, can the stock springs carry the weight of full cylinder and 2 or 3 passengers in the back? I just need a softer ride as i'm fed up of hard rear springs and hard shocks. Can the cng springs/shocks setting be soft also without sagging the car's back side?

Get Gabriel shocks they were OEM for this car..
Get the stock Springs at rear but add half inch spacers with them.. That way it will stay soft..

I already have the gabriel shocks in the back, there are spacers in the back but the ride is too high from the back. Despite having gabriel shocks my car still has a very harsh ride for rear passengers, so are springs the culprit of it? I've read on this forum by @cracked that KYB were the oem shocks in khyber and i was planning to change to kyb, what do you say?

Well about OEM i am also a little confused some say Tockico were OEM some say KYB and some Gabriel...
But in all the later car's by Suzuki OEM were Gabriel so can't say for sure which brand was OEM for Khyber..
I previously had Tockico rear shocks in my car but their damping wasn't good then i got KYB from market but they didn't fit properly they were for some other car then at last got Gabriels and they are doing fine from last 2 year's atleast better than Tockico can't compare them with KYB as i haven't used KYB...

My meter heat gauge problem is solved and now it's working fine. Mechanic took rs.600 for replacing heat gauge machinery. Then speedometer wire was also worn out so bought it for rs.400.
Then i went to the mechanic who replaced the control arms and bushes and asked him to loosen up the control arm bolts and tight them again while is standing on its own weight. He said how can i tighten the bolts when car is standing on its own weight, it must be lifted up to loosen up or tighten. Can you please explain how its done in desi mechanics language? The process?

OEM were Tokico back then. But now Suzuki's have Gabriel as OEM as per my knowledge.

Gabriel with *stock springs are best followed by SNA CNG springs (if buying stuff from junkyard is not your thing), but springs of SNA are high and stiffness is reasonable. Is there any better stiff springs (new preferably) available?

Tokico are harder than Gabriel. KYB has a lot of fakes, so i did not try that.

What springs are you using? Are they hard or soft?

Gabriel is very durable, last 4-5 years easily.

Edit: Stock springs are best. Addition of spacers is better than replacing springs.

As my car has never seen CNG in it's life so i am using stock rear springs and they are doing fine... At front springs are also stock but there are 0.30 inch spacers added at front. Car sometimes hit (vehshee type) speed breakers though with 4 healthy person's on board.
Both front and back shocks are from Gabriel..
