Got Hands On AE101 Shifter Assembly In Cheap..Using My AE82 Base And AE101 Shifter.....Makes A Mixture Of It......Did'nt Modify Anything....Just Use The Stuff From AE101 Shifter And Mate Them In My EE80/AE82 Shifter......!!
Time Duration: 70-80 Mins (Depending On Person And No Of Ppls Working) I Work Alone

Removing Shifter Cable Locks.....!! There Are 2 Locks..One For Side Cable ..One For Cable Underneath Shifter

Opening Assembly Bolts...!! 12mm Socket Works Here..
Cables UnLocked + Shifter Bolts Removed
Removing Cables Locks With Assembly.....It Keeps Cables In Row And Intact With Assembly.....You Need To Pull It Up Hardly...Quiet Jamned...
Assembly Finally Removed Leaving Just Cables...!! Have To Clean Cables End Later....!! 1st Let The Swap BEGUN...
On Left Is AE101 Shifter....On Right The Stock EE80 Shifter...!!

Dismounting EE80 Shifter.....Jamned Nuts...Need WD-40 + Hammering To Open Them...!!
Opened And This Is What We Are Using From EE80 Shifter..Arm + Inside Fittings Of Rod
On Left EE80 Rod...On Right AE101 Rod...Notice The Difference In Side Arm Length + Rod Length From Both Sides...!!
Cleaning Base Of EE80 Shifter Before Mounting The Stuff....Really Nasty...Grease+Dust=Super Nasty Greasy..!:S
This Is What We Are Going To Use From AE101+EE80 Shifter All Togeather...!!
Time To Put It Together....Filling Centre Ball Sides+Moving Sides With Grease...!!
Don't Overfill.....Just Fill As It Won't Come Out From Any Side..Move Slowly And Remove Excess Grease
Fill Moving Ends Of Rod Also With It..
Putting The Rod In Place....!!
Fitting Pivot Arm We Used From EE80 Shifter....You Need To Lift It 6-7mm From Shifter Using Washers As Spacer So Side Arm We Are Using From AE101 Won't Hit The Base...! If You Don't Do So And Put Side Shifter Cable.. Cable Hits With Shifter Base....!!
Spacers Used B/w.....I Have Same Size Bushes Lying Around..Fits Perfect.....!! You Can Use Washers Nuts As A Spacer...!! After Putting Spacers.... One Bolt Won't Fits Inn As It Goes Short Of Length...You Need To Put Some Long Length Bolt On Place Of That
Fitting Springs...Make Sure You Fit Them Correctly Else Shifter Won't Center Up Itself...!!
Shifter Almost Ready...Need To Torque Bolts Just...!
Finally Done....!!
Cleaning Shifter Linkages Ends And WD-40 Them...!!
Putting Shifter Linkage Lock Back....!!
Done....Yuppppy.......Wohoo...!!
Have A Test Drive After The Job And Shifter Just Shifts Beautifully...Shifts Goes 45%+ Shorter Horizontally As Well As Vertically... Also After Service And Re-Greasing...It Got All Soft And Noiseless.....!!
So It Worth The Effort........This Method Applies For Both EE80/AE82 As Well As For EE90/AE90.....Both Have Almost Similar Shifters And These Parts From AE101/AE111 Shifter Works On Both Of Them...!!
So Any EE80/AE80/EE90/AE90 Who Wants To Have A Better Shifter Can Try This.....!! It Worth The Effort
