weather was lovely . it was raining the max time . just down the Sharda ruins it was a army large statement , which tourist ask them the permission to visit and show them identity.

How is the road from Keran to Sharda ? Did you pass through any big nallas / water-crossings ?

And I guess like the other threads suggest, from Sharda onwards one would have to hire a jeep. I'm leaving in a week's time iA, can you tell how are current facilities beyond Sharda, I mean how is the road to Kel and till Taobut, any hotels for family stay in Kel ?

@travelinghell we crossed each other on route to Sharda I was on Grey Prado. Admired your courage going on car with family in Rain.

i recommend don't take your car after Karen .. Sharda way is quite scary have to cross big nallas on the way which a car can't bear. and if your ride get stuck in the middle of big nallah ... hell of a trouble will be faced . on my way back the water of nallah was till the windows. Allah Pak nay karam kia otherwise it was totally rainy day and nullah pressure was at it's peak. if your plan is to go till sharda on own car then when you cross nallah don't remove you foot from accelerator or your car engine get off . kel and taobut is typically off road, don't go there without a 4X4.

dear haroon,
it was the blessing of Almighty Allah that everything went fine without any trouble. just a little smashing of cars floor on uneven rocky terren , which is a part of driving a car on a 4X4 path.

Bro,

I plan to leave Lahore on 4th June, stay at Muzaffarabad on the night of 4th, and leave for Keran in my own car on the morning of 5th.

From Keran onwards we'll hire a jeep as you recommended. And from Keran our next night stay will be at Kel. Do you think Kel is okay to stay at with family, I mean are there any good hotels there ?

Nice thread and trip and I must say it is a lot of courage to go there is rain and as you described the water was touching windows. Thanks god you are back with your car in healthy condition. BTW how are the hotels in sharda and keran. What kind of washrooms they have?

hotel in keran have all usual facilities . but in sharda there isn't tv or aminity like fridge is availbe and also eclectricity is only with genrator , which they start at 7 til 11 pm . but the staff can let your cell phone or pc charged with the only line they have . wash rooms are ok in both places , English toilets.
