if you have a W220 or a Mercedes that does not have a lever to release the shifter from PARK than you are looking to spend a lot of money :
- Towing the car to the 'STEALER"
- Getting a new SHIFTER module
- Reprograming the module
I don't know how much time it will take for them to fix it.
Looked at the forums, some people have found a way to fix the shifter mechanism and have identified the part that needs to be replaced instead of the entire module

The manufacturer used a plastic part instead of using aluminum
due to use and stress over time it cracks
The way this thing works is
When you press brake the Solenoid pushes up
The up motion of the Solenoid pushes the piece down
The piece upon being pushed releases the shifter from Park
The piece is also bein pushed up by a small spring on the other end so when you bring back the car to Park and turn it off
and try to move the shifter it will not move because the spring is pushing it and will only release once the car is started and the brake is pressed

I got the piece in Aluminum and replaced it
