Public transport cannot work in Pakistan. People are not understanding the issue here. In our country, roads are narrow. Motorcycles are cheaper than dirt. Petrol is cheap (at least in comparison with diesel). Motorcycle gives you the flexibility to go everywhere, anytime with 2, 3 or 4 people together. There is no comparison with buses.
I do understand that in normal sane country this shouldn't be the situation. Public transport is always cheaper and environmentally friendly. But in Pakistan's case it is at least not cheaper than two wheeler transport. Lahore is a big city and has better roads as well. But this is not the case for other cities like in south Punjab. So motorcycles being cheaper and more flexible mode of transport will always win against any form of public transport. So the solution is to either ban motorcycles or make motorcycle ownership more expensive. So that the public transport becomes a viable option which is definitely more environmentally friendly option as compared to this more than a century old 70cc crap.

I hate the unruly hordes of motorcycles occupying every inch of road every where and to top it off they have added those rickshaws behind bikes. Most of them do not even have a license, neither are of required age to be on road independently. Even on wider roads of Lahore all lanes are occupied by motorcycles, people buy motorcycles as cheap as 1500/- per month. There must be a solution to this problem, banning them outright may not be possible now but replacing them with electric scooter will help with emissions, but yes it should have some minimum benchmark regarding who can own a motorcycle and be on road. These hellhounds have zero regard for others on road and complete absence of traffic laws and rules.

The Need of time is to enforce further strict regulations regarding industrial emissions. Agar Motor Bike and Local Assembled cars EURO 2 & EURO 4 ho sakti hein tou why not to control NEQs of industral emissions

Nahi tou ye RON 87 ko RON 92 kyon kartay (despite being disclosed now their adultration with Managnese). Abb mazeed danda aay ga international agencies ka plus uusss specific country ka jo hamein aid deti hai aur jis ko pakistan ka environment correction quota mila hoa hai.

Just came back from a walk in dha lahore and my eyes are hurting and itching due to this smog. I think should all buy gas masks that cover eyes as well as mouth and nose to stay safe in this hazardous climate. Seems like were living in a city where some nuclear leaked into the air and affected the whole city LOL .

There is also smog here in Dera Ghazi Khan from last 2 days (district of south punjab) although there is no major industry working here as compared to upper punjab. I am unable to understand where its coming from.

at Lahore in 2015 ILS CAT III is installed and still flights are delayed and cancelled what an irony,

this year during peak monsoon season i travelled to Tokyo, with transit 90 min at KaiTak Airport. landing at approx 7.45 am local time it was raining never seen before and the cross wind landing was seriously adventure for me , departure was at 9.15 and rain was hell, as it'd never stop. Boeing 787 of ANA managed to take off as walk in park, landed at Narita in thunderstorm without any delays as if it is a sunny day.
