I only explained to you how the fan clutch should work, (like repair manuals tell you to) do not pick up the arrangement of words and start to run with them because testing such parts is not a singular test binary answer - it takes multiple tests to confirm. - e.g. a single test binary answer can be used to test an electric fan, it either spins or it doesnt, with hydrostatic fan clutches - it will spin but is it actually working? thats what my testing advice was for.
My explanation can be used for "testing the fan clutch" and to weed out bad sellers from new. e.g. (aik round pe 2 chakkar kaatay ga type). This will help you out in judging if the old parts from a scrapyard are worth buying.
If you had come to me in Khi when I was still there and asked to install a scrapyard fan clutch in your mitsubishi that you bought yourself, I would guide you to buy some tools and install it yourself as I wont associate my name with a bad part. If you were to ask me for such - I would have quoted you a brand new fan clutch and labour. (even if was to be bought from outside Pakistan meaning not cheap).
However if you had shown up with a fan clutch that can be rebuilt - I would have quoted you a rebuild of it.
Take this purchase of yours as a lesson, do not fall for "genuine paint, non showered etc etc etc" as top priority - because you purchased a genuine pile of scrap if its falling apart elsewhere than the cosmetics - and what good will 30 year old paint do for you if the truck is not drivable?
