Solved - Civic Reborn Hydraulic to Electronic Power Steering

AoA Pak wheelers.

I own a Honda Civic Reborn 2008. Since last couple of months I am facing power steering oil leakage issue. I got it fixed twice but the issue still persists (still getting oil leaked). I read on Pak wheels that majority of 8th Gen civic has this issue and some guys pointed that it is better to swap normal Hydraulic power steering with Electronic one. I need some advice about it.

1. Will this swap effect steering in any way ? Hard or soft than before?
2. Do I have to change the steering wheel that contains airbags etc as well or we just replace stuff below it ?
3. How much will it cost approximately?
4. Any good and recommended mechanic/shop from where I can get it swapped as well ? (I can go to Lahore, Pindi, and Peshawer)

I also thought of this as the engines are still the same as of 2018, so the power steering mechanism should be swappable. But I myself am curious as to the possibility of it and the total cost etc!

Some old threads indicate that this process have costed them almost 20000 Rs and they got it done form Bilal Gunj Lahore, but they did not specify from which shop they got this job done. Also those threads are way old now and no new information is available.

I don't know why there is no information available on EPS. People are using JDM Alto 660cc EPS in their Sedan cars but I think Alto is a small car whose EPS is under powered for a Sedan car as Alto has less weight. Feedback & help is required from technical guys.

We can't fit EPS of a CANBUS car into an old car which have regular type wiring. My question is can we perfectly wire EPS from JDM Corolla X/G 2002-2006 into an old Corolla as Corolla X/G 2002-2006 didn't come with CANBUS but have ABS. So if we use EPS of this car, can it work perfectly like EPS ECU starting with engine start, variable assist as car speed increases or decreases, etc?

Engine has nothing to do with steering.
Get it changed from Bilal Gunj. It costed me 25k about an year ago.
It was a bolt on swap with JDM civic.
Please do not try to fit a dinky EPS into it.

EPS have to take VSS signal from somewhere either from speedometer or engine ECU or from ABS sensors.
Can you provide more details like model of your car, you used EPS of which model year?

Dear first of all thank you very much for guiding me. Can you please confirm few more things ?

1. That 25k cost includes parts and mechanic fees or just parts?
2. Lucky Autos seems to be the mechanic shop. Can you confirm from where you got parts? Any recommended shop or just some random shop ?
3. Do you feel any difference in steering feedback ? Softer than before or harder than before ?
4. Any issue till now ?

Its from 8 gen JDM civic. Dont know model year.
VSS is taken from ECU.

He managed the parts himself. I double checked myself. Nice guy he will let you try and replace if youre not satisfied.
As these are Kabli stuff, expect some khawari until you find a flawless part.
No difference in feel. Its just slightly lighter but not smooth as 9th gen civic. 8th civic EPS are hard.
No issues till now. Its been a year.

I also swapped my Coure steering with JDM Coure EPS from him. That was a bolt on swap as well. Running great as well, though this one is smooth as a butter.

Btw cost is around 20 to 25k
Also keep one thing in mind that to save cost they use the old belt which is longer as there is powersterring pump for hps...for eps a shorter belt is needed as the pump is removed from the engine...so to save cost the mechanics let the pump remain there
Also dont give older parts there you will get nothing for them if u give those to them...keep them and post ad here on pw depending on the condition...also you can pm me for any help needed..if u r from lahore i can also refer you people

I have 2002 civic vti auto. I changed it since 3 years before. It fits bolt on. No change is needed. They give the VSS signal from ECU.As the car speed up its become harder and give strong control on stearing.No issue still.
