Speed Breakers on Islamabad Expressway

I doubt that ITP would have enough resources to launch a sustained campaign of this type.

With what they do have ,they should divert their attention from the license plate campaign to this.
What is more important?

In the long run:

Speed Cameras on the expressway.
Educating pedestrians.
Overhead bridges.
More ITP presence.

I am not aware of CDA planes of building overhead bridges there. From what I have heard, they've sold the old bridges that were already placed at these "densely populated" locations instead of altering them for the appropriate length. Agreed that people didn't use them much and were always looking for a short cut. Once a civic in front of me hit a person crossing the road "under" the Khanna bridge. The civic's windscreen was smashed. Thankfully I managed to brake my way out of it.

CDA should've thought of it before building this expressway or at least during the construction. Even someone with an IQ of 50 would know that such situation can occur. Why do they always have to do something after it is too late?

I damaged my tires last night when suddenly I saw those stupic cat eyes on the EXPRESSWAY.. why the hell is it called expressway if you have to cross thise cat eyes dead slow.. I can tell you many cars with low profile tyres will gonna get damage because of them..

Seriously, I loved the expressway but after these cat eys I hate to go there... There should be underpasses for pedestrians and that area should be patrolled by police so that if someone crosses the road he is fined for that...

They can build a billion rupee road but can place a overhead or a underpass for pedestrian.. Thats a shame on the planner..

They have ruioned the beautifull expressway..

Same problem for pedestrians on 7th avenue.
Its only now that they've making overhead bridges.

Not to mention a flaw in the design of the road which can lead to accidents (mainly due to , once again , the way people drive)

Islamabad's Administrative Authority called CDA and ITP are i think are not well planned Institutions as ITP have big Rocket Sceince methodology to put U-turn in place of placing his person on some Chowk and on those U-Turn i saw alot of accident due to Confusion between Drivers and also Mobile.
ITP is more keen for getting fine for Speed or Seat Belt or giving stop-free route for VVIP Karwans rather than controlling traffic and CDA is more keen for just keeping the Red Zone Clear then any facility for peoples living out there.

I think all the accidents happened due to lack of planning for the Islamabad Express Way as why they didnt plan for Pedestrians and Cyclists rather than putting some concrete plan Speed Breaker they put iron/Steel Cat Eyes which really Damage ur Tyre as my last Tyres where damged due to those Cat Eyes on GT Road.

The easiest and cheap way is just to change the name of expressway to slowway or Pakistani ExpressWay.

Also to send the meaning of Pakistani ExpressWay to Oxford Dictionary Editors i.e. Expressway with speed breakers, slow moving traffic, tyre busting cat eyes etc....

This is really the hight of curruption from CDA and this goverment. As rightly mentioned by @iceman_kimi why in the first place the old bridges were disposed off (possibillty at through away price). and why not they been altered to the new length?

This just another way to make more money, as sooner or later the new bridges have to be made ( as we all know that the bridge worked on this highway ; it not new rocket science) and the once which have sold it will definately get the new's contract. and zardariway of making more money.

you guys do know that there are lots of living areas on the both sides of isl highway..!?
and people do need to cross roads everyday.
cars are flying on that road after the construction, and the only way not to kill the pedestrians is the speed breakers.

love the way or muppets in cda comes up with these ideas! its not the first and certanily not the last to see these bumps or tyre buster as for overhead pedsiterian bridges its a lame idea never works in pakistan as our nation people are alwayz in a rush to get to nowhere and we cant be bothered using the bridge its a more effort to do so!

There are ppl living on both side of Lahore and Islamabad Motorway and on GT roads as well. So why not make speed-breakers after every KM?

Another option is to sell every car on the road and give cycle to everyone, so that there are no accidents?

i bet no one jumping here ever used a overhead pedestrian bridge in real

they are so pathetic(steps are so high), u will need a energy drink when u reach on top! and even if u put the bridge and fence on ground, our people will manage to break the fence and still cross through ground route
