Speed Breakers on Islamabad Expressway

well speadbrakers should be made

every 1 is always going high in speed....talking to a ITP officer....

they done every thing...but yet they get same amount of speed fines as they used to give in start

ppl here pakistan have lots of mony to watse

i think for high speeding chalan should be around 2000rupees

on muree road lots of person crossed me on road without watching at my side even if i was coming or not...
thanks GOD i was always in around 50km/h yet i have to lock the tyres to safe them....and even lots of horen and locking of tyres...they still run without seeing on left or right side

either they educate them to use bridges or do speed brakers

on muree road in rawalpindi..almost all steel rods between roads r taken away by unknown ppl...and now agian every 1 cross from thier...even sometimes a motorbike rider try to do the same

You lost the bet . I have myself crossed the RGH (centre hospital) bridge and khanna bridge on regular basis.

Don't you think a safer way would be to build a structure that would force the pedestrians to use the bridges instead?

There was an accident this evening right on the breaker involving a biker at Zia mosque. Don't know what the problem was, but my guess, problem of pedestrian's still not solved.

use the extreme left lane....and no tension..no braker on that lane

If pedestrians are not willing or able to use overhead bridges, may be an underpass could help alleviate this problem.

Tried that on the second day, trucks and people standing on the roadside (sometimes in the middle of the lane) pose greater risk than the tyres and no greater time saving.

The bridges seem pretty practical to me as I also noted people of all ages and genders crossing the bridge.

Update: An ITP officer now standing in the extreme left lanes right before these speed breakers now directs any private car etc. to the highway so that you have to get your tyres ruined. Way to go ITP, I wish they could depute him earlier so that he could enforce bridge usage by the pedestrians.

this road is in the middle of a city. with huge number of people living on the both sides of it.
and two speed breaker wont hurt any one.
app is road ko koi american expressway na samjhein.
app ki shaan mein koi gustakhi nahi ho jai gi break lagane se.
its a very good step that they have made speed breakers on it.
and try to thank Allah that road has been constructed. and that too a good road.

Well, if the authority just build more bridges & then build 6ft fence or some kind of strong high barriers(which our strong social animals cant break) on both sides of the road then only people will be forced to used the bridges...

like on Motorways.....

By strong fence, I mean not like simple grills like on Murree Road Pindi & Karachi Company Islamabad, where people have broken welded grills for passage...

These people need much more strictness..:d

Well i dun mind these speed breaker but than they should stop calling it Expressway.

I liked the old highway better atleast i could cross this whole highway till airport in 10 to 12 Mins. Now it takes 20 to 30 Mins everyday.

^^ they have expensive cars with BIG tyres.so i think they just cruise over them without bothering to slow down.
BTW, Although it's a stupid act to place them there in the first place But i agree with aref that it wont hurt if u could slow down for 2-3 mins

There is nothing wrong in slowing down but these speed breakers cause little trafic jam on these 3 places.

on my gli if road is clean i tried to run over it around 70km/h...and felt nothing like a speed braker....

but on khyber its vise versa...eveything in car started shouting

Has the CDA installed yellow warning lights before the speed breakers? Thats a mandatory requirement and a simple fix.
