I totally agree with nightsurfer...This car is just targetted at a different segment... but then again...

as he says... there are less ppl who have got 1.5 million than those having 1.2 million...

but those who can shell out 1.5 million are wealthy enuff to afford 3 million rupees cars...so what do u noe??.... we're gonna see ppl owning the New civic as a second car.... while their primary car is an E320!

buying the 18 lakh CL9??? aur the 16 lakh CL7??? wht abt the 15 lakh Premio? I mean there are ppl u can offord the civic!

Secondly compare the top spec 7G civic with the top spec 8G civic!! I mean dont compare the 1.2Million with the 1.5Million... If u are talking abt 1.2million 7G, compare it with the 1.38 million 8G civic!

LETS talk abt the 1.3Million civic! If ppl can afford a 1.3Million civic... they can add 2lakh more to buy the 1.8L one! Mind u thre are numerous CIVIC fans here! They can do ne thing to get there hands on the civic, Y cant they give 2 lakh more???

Then comes LEASING! 80% or even more PPL today are leasing cars! They dont go to the showroom with a BREIFCASE full of CASH and buy the car! And v all are aware that while leasing a car it sumtimes cross the value of 2lakhs or more in excess! So that's not a problem if it crosses sum more....

There are many ppl who get cars from where they work... They get cars from their companies.... I too am one of them and my father is INSHALLAH going to get a 1.8L oriel pros from his bank..... So v will c the car on the road. Just wait for sumtime;)

Y Bring the E320 in between bro? Do u think ppl ho own CL9s also hav E320s?? I mean my neighbour has a CL9, which certainly is more expensive then the new civic.... BUT HEY, I JUST CANT SEEM TO SPOT A E320 WITH HIM:D

Then introducing the 1.5L city in place of the civic was also not a good idea.... y? coz CIVIC has an image which is a 100 times better then the city! ppl could hav gone or the 1.5L civic rather then this because of better grip, beter drive, stability and the features provided by the civic....

So in short wht HONDA PK has done is that they hav REDUCED THEIR CLIENTS!!

You just answered yourself. Before the new civic was launched, even the people buying 1mlllion Rs. car were considering Civic because they could afford to pay a lac or two more. But now, since, there are too many options available in competetive prices. The 1.6 Lancer and the Optra are coming wiith ff cng and the civic out of the people's reach, people will now have to settle for these lesser performing but yet affordable cars. So the masses will not be going for the Civic.

I said most ppl wud be having an E320 as a primary car...

By this i meant....not everyone has 1.5 million... and those who do, are too rich...1.5 million is nothing for them...!!

so buying the new civic is no big deal for them...they can buy lots of much more expensive cars!...i mentioned the E320 as just an example of an expensive car...

and btw ur neighbour has many other cars as well...LOTS of BUSES too..!!...
so 1.7million is nothing for them....

they wud think of buying a 10 lakh lancer and saving the rest!...

So by saying this u agree that those ppl who just had 15 to 16 lacs in their pocket were buying civics for 11 lacs and saving the rest... but now they cant do so...coz they cant buy a CIVIC in 11 lacs... but they can only get a 1.5l engine with a smaller and less attractive body!...

Wen u say this.... u never got hold to wht i was saying LOLZz!! i didnt say that ppl were saying money... heck none of statements show i meant that!! I was talking abt the civic 1.5 VS city 1.5!! i m not talking abt this 8G model! i fing the older body of the civic with the 1.5/1.6L engines more attractive! READ AGAIN MY LAST POST! I seriously doubt ppl wont spend a lil more to get wht the new civic is offering...

i meant that HONDA has removed the 1.5L/1.6L civic and those ho used to get cars from their companies, with option of buying 1 1.5L car....(BE IT NE CAR) ppl could hav chosen the 1.5L civic..... but since its no longer availble..... ppl would buy sumthing else! They wont even go for city.... bcuse of the lack of road grip and the features provied by HONDA....
Meaning that HONDA will b loosing customers, NOT CIVIC CUSTOMERS... BUT GENERAL HONDA CUSTOMERS! PPL who get 1.5L/1.6L cars from the companies they work... wont go for HONDAs because of the removale of teh 1.5L/1.6L engines in the CIVICs.....

Brother, Civic's sales would decrease because of both the increase in the price and the inrease in the displacement. We all know that when someone decides to buy a car the frst thing he considers is the price. And Civic now elavated to the 1.5million barrier is out of the 1.0million competition. So the people that have the capacity of sepnding 1.0million for a car will have to go for the other competetive products available. Yes, people will buy civic, the ones who desire for it. But not the ones that have to pick a car depending on their budget and these people are huge in numbers as compared to the ones that desire to have a civic. So Honda will definately gain a pecentage of Accord,/Camry etc buyers but they will surely loose the Corolla/Lancer buyer.

the number of replys you see for every CIVIC post shows how much people are observing this car. This shows the interest of people in it.

Also one more factor to our being dis-satisfied with the new civic is that, we were expecting it to be just like the foreign model, whereas the Pakistani model lacks many options in it. This is just because of internet that we came to know that what is available in foreighn models and what is not available here in Pakistan. e.g. the previous model of civic was same as US model but the features set for Pakistan model was not the same as US, and we were never disappointed with it because we had little information about the foreign models.
This time due to internet we had much more information of the foreign model and we were expecting the same model here in Pakistan. Otherwise the previous shape when it was launched was also very expensive as compared to other cars at that time. correct me if I am wrong
