You can use Silicone, White cement, wall putty mix with white cement and white wood glue, and if still not satisfied try putting MDF sheet pieces between gaps.

Need some advice for my floor rework in Lahore

I have a 325 sqft simple Terrazzo floor(without any squares of Glass or Marble border) the mason and Grinder guy together done a terrible job it is visibly uneven therefore I want to put "Master porcelain tiles" over it but I don't want to raise the level so much.

The problem is I don't know where to get an experienced person who don't mess up things like before.

I have two confusions as well

1- I am afraid that in order to make tiles leveled over an uneven surface an inexperienced guy will use a thick mortar bed

2- I have contacted two masons so far one said that I have to first call the Marble Grinder so that he first make a slight grinding of top layer to remove any polish otherwise tiles will not hold to the surface the other guy said I don't need the grinding work he will simply use his sharp hammer to make small cuts on floor and that will be good enough to make surface rough

Any thoughts? thanks

@tajammal84 FYI I inquired about granite tiles from "Master" showroom they said they only have porcelain Tiles which is often referred to as Granite Tiles but he also said that The real Chinese Granite tiles are only avaliable in 2' x 2' size

Floor level shall not be raised if adjacent areas are connected with it like halls, stairs area, any baths or....... 1st priority shall be given to maintain floor level. Solutions which other people's are telling you like making tukks or make surface rough will not be long lasting, it will be ur own decision to go with floor over an floor. So will recommend to dismantle previous floor with Hilti drill machine big chiesel. Floor dismentling via Hilti will not take more than 1 day max. Once dismentelled, trash thrown away, do kacha, make level then re-install Granite tile.
Chinese tiles are good too, but you can go for master. Contact with some gd dealer of Master Granite tiles they surely will show u granite products with size 2'×2'. The guy who told you about real Chinese Granite tile, i think he have good stock of chinese tiles and he might be want to get rid off it. There is absolutely no issue with master tile and its tested at every level in PK.
Always remember to get floor level via water level technique before doing kacha and tile deployment and deploy tile with bond not cement. Thanks!

I think the floor dismentaling will be hell of a job and if that means removing 2" Chips layer and then Cement Layer (Kacha) as well and then redoing Kacha then that will increase the budget so much and that is what I was trying to avoid so if you can provide some TIPs for floor over floor solution then that will be really helpful for me.

Also few masons add Cement in Tile Bond they say that this will strengthen the bond is it correct?

You are the expert you know better but just want to share my own experience that we installed Tiles over Terrazo in Kitchen area over 10 years ago (using Bond only) the tiles were Master Proclain and the floor still looks like new. (maybe because it is a small kitchen) the mason was also a good experienced guy unfortunately dead years ago.

However it is so disappointing to know that if Proclain tile and Granit tile are two different products then why that tile guy was lying actually he said that Master Tiles doesn't manufacture granite tiles, It is a big Showroom (HM Sons Pvt Ltd, Ferozepur road Lahore ) dedicated to Master tiles only they don't sell any other tiles, I will now check with some other dealer. thanks again

2" chips removal with Hilti would be enough. Refer to Hilti discussion in earlier threads. Do it if you can bear expense otherwise you obviously leave it as its only my suggestion. In case u don't plan for any sort of material dismantling then do the fine and deep cuts over chips surface. Master also prepares 2'×2' tile. For further clarity refer to this

No, never mix the bond with cement, its wrong practice.
Might be showroom guy have little knowledge about diff between porcelain & granite tiles, based on it i cant say he is telling alie.
Meanwhile just have gupshup with Mr Sanawar, he worked long with Master and now working as Manager with one of big brand named as Tile Select.

We many times purchased Granite Master tiles 2'×2' from tile select as HM Sons didn't have full variety, they only keep selected products under certain agreements with Master.

Thanks for your valuable input and providing a contact I will definitely call him, btw I was not interested in 2'x2' I was planning to install either 12"x12" or 16"x16" because the floor is not that big.

I was in perception that showroom (HM Sons) is actually Master tile's own outlet

Well, the solution is simply dismental floor OR simply lay the tiles after having some cuts over chips floor but i am afraid it wont be long lasting until unless someone very gigantic in mason field would install the tiles.

In the meanwhile, If possible ask someone very experienced in floor grinding field you might some relief, basically grinding guys keep grinding floor without maintaining floor level, thats why the floor feels uneven, A very experienced Grinding guy might help you.

Once i had experienced the same thing and instead of dismentaling whole floor we did cut the floor in a line from two sides and put other color chips and then regrind the whole floor it didnt look very very good but somehow looked much better than this.

Need some info on wooden vinyl floors. Someone today recommended me to install wooden looking sheets rather than changing the carprt. Went to "Mohkam" lhr and they say its not vinyl rather its a fiber based material which they will paste it with glue. They were calling it "vinyl composite". The finish is somewhat like wood as you can feel the slight grooves aswell when you slide your hand on it. It comes in a role of 6' x 90' if im not wrong. Price is 195/sqft including installation. Theres no wooden feeling when you walk on it which is obvious. Plus i couldnt see the material from below and no info about the thickness. Ive seen this installed in a house, the owner changed one patch in 4 years so they recommended my doing the same.
The only reasom why i am thinking to go for it is due to the fact i can literally rip the sheet off and get a different shade (if all goes well). Since this is something i havent applied or seen being aoplied, what are the pros and cons of such a sheet? Is this same as vinyl sheets? Should i go for it or stay away?
What alternative can i get considering i want to change the carpet and dont want to install tiles or planks. Ive attached pics below of the flooring sheets

I am sure this has been discussed before but i am asking again for the sake of discussion, please recommend a good water pump for Islamabad. We have an underground tank from where this motor will pump the water to tank on roof. The house has two floors and water tank is cement one (old style) and is placed on roof of top floor.
I am looking for something which is efficient so please suggest a good brand and how much HP required.

Previous motor is working fine but its pump has gone weak. When it was new (around 7 years ago), it would completely fill the tank in 20minutes. Now it takes more than 45mins to fill it. The problem started when someone forgot to turn off the motor and it ran for whole night.

Is it worth repairing the pump of the motor as electrical part is perfectly fine. I am willing to dump it if new motors are efficient and within a reasonable price?

Second question: Does any have experience with automatic systems in Islamabad? I am currently living temporarily in Lahore and this house has automatic water pump system but in Lahore there are no underground tanks so i assume a slightly different system is required for Islamabad as you have to keep an eye on underground tank water level as well so the pump doesn't run dry. Can someone recommend any shop for this?
