Strange issue of heatup/temp needle/sensor

why didnt u go to any authorized parts seller in the first place? They have system so that u get the exact part. I didn know my city used a 1.1 cap because it was fitted with a 0.9 bar nissan cap. I went to Honda asked them about the spec and got a brand new cap for 900 or 1400 .... not too sure. It wasnt worth more than the trouble and the feeling on insecurity while driving a car with a possibility of overheating,. I replaced the cap on my Civic, the first thing i did after getting the car. It wasnt giving me any trouble but did it as a routine maintenance along with timing belt and water pump...
I had unstable needle on my alto which would heat up every now and thn and sometimes would go without overheating for weeks. It eventually broke down one day with water coming out of the exhaust. Had to toe it to the mechanic and i was handed a huge bill 3 days later. Something similar happened to a friends baleno which was misfiring, he went for tuning and one of the spark plugs were loose and the radiator was out of water. He added water the water started coming out of the spark plug slot.

The only thing worse than an overheating car is "intermittent overheating" at wrong time.

well i dont think honda will have japenese parts thats why didnt went to them
called the shop today again he said that honda people told him that rad cap comes with 0.9 bar n not 1.1 n i was like wtf, hows that possible
called honda 3s, they told me they got all 1.1 bar caps for all civic n city as well, no 0.9 at all
asked that shop guy he said he'll resolve the issue or i guess i'll just ask for refund n lets see from where else to get the cap

No offense but honda got almost all genuine parts of 05 civic. At least i never across a problem when they did not had a particular part. Bro 3s can be a bit more expensive but its worth it. Look at how your car wiring is messed up by mechanics... that cng issue and power windows prob

i went to a shop to get a japenese part not oem n they said they'll get from honda company so how will they supply a oem part at 1/3 its price? use ur brain rather than just using it to taunt only

went to the shop, he said he checked at many suppliers in pindi but every one had only caps with 0.9 bar n no 1.1 bar caps
so got a refund...seems only honda keeps such caps or he couldnt source any

i remember the cap which i got with this car has yellow sticker so that might be 0.9 as well

so far thermostat valve is working like a charm

bro its not that expensive, i still insist to get it from dealership. 2 weeks ago i got one mounting for 5k. Sometimes paying a bit more helps your car to go a lot longer than usual. Civic is not a thing of roadside mechanics, they will ruin you car.

every other day your car heats up is one less day out of your engine's life. The real detailing of the car is its mechanical maintenance. I hope this oem cap will solve your issue for at least next 3-5 years

These shops that you visit are nothing more than "parchoon" shops - they dont care or know about the use of a part, all they know is that "maal bikta hai aur kaam chalta hai"

for them a rad cap is perfect if it looks the same.

There are two types of japanese car radiator caps, one has an inverted dome for a vacuum valve and usually this cap is a bit taller and 90% of the times it is a 0.9 bar pressure cap.

The other type - which you want is a shorter version which has a needle type vacuum valve and was installed by AHL when the car was made. It is a 1.1 bar cap and also has a plastic grab handle.

The cost of a genuine cap would be approximately Rs 1000~2000/- depending on which stock you buy.

Now stop being childish and sounding like a broken record.

In one post you wrote that your expansion line was seen as "busy throwing out" - If it was literally throwing out water under pressure you have a warped head or bad head bolts. This happens when the mechanic tightens an "all aluminium engine" with his pipe over breaker bar.

The expansion line to the reserve bottle should only have gentle even liquid flow. Its pretty slow and gradual.

i dont have have any personal difference with you or any1 else on this forum
i am not good at technical stuff, i have mentioned that before as well

i actually went to the shop to get a japenese part which was priced at 350rs, for original part price they quoted 850rs where as honda quoted it as 1400rs
now this is what i was saying that how can they get a japenese part for 350rs from honda 3s when they keep oem parts only n which was priced at 1400rs but i guess they were talking about their supplier by saying they'll get from honda co n not honda 3s

u r right they dont know about parts, most of the time he was calling my car as honda cf as if he was referring to honda accord even when i said its civic vti
he was talking about cap as its wall is like this n that

first they gave me a cap that was smaller then they brought one from their shop which was 1.1 n looked like this

which they had in 0.9 only n couldnt find it in 1.1 bar
btw the one i have is taller n bigger where as the one they gave was smaller n short

Do what @Xulfiqar and hellguardian is telling you. Take your car to 3s and install an OEM cap.

PS dont take things on heart, try to learn how to address seniors like sir @Xulfiqar even if you have been wronged. you can convey the same decently. continuing with such attitude will attract ppl who will enjoy teasing u and you will be a monkey at centre stage dancing at the tunes of dugdugee in street theater
