Let's just focus on out of the box solutions. Not everyone has the time, expertise or dedication to build a generator from ground up.
So, can anyone confirm if a Chinese 9.5-10 kva generator converted to gas could run 2 x 1.5 ton ACs?
Or give contact information for someone who builds real good quality local generators. In this case I would go for 15kva gas genset that doesn't cost more than 250k.

the 13.5kw one can only run on either gas or lpg. whereas the 9.5kW is on petrol. I am pretty sure that it can also be converted to gas.
i have a 13.5kw briggs and stratton which i installed last yr in feb. and uptil now it has clocked over 1200 hrs.

How's Generc 13kw Gas generator? Just saw one in Metro for 499k. It's quite expensive but looked good.

my dear, you experimented correctly. 2 acs may be run on a china gas genset under 10kv but its for a very short time. you cannot use it for daily purposes.

other thing is, if you want to use acs, go for a 15kv genset atleast. you would be better off then.

brigs & straton is a good genset but not a very wise option.

you want cheap solution with longer/safer output. go for locally assembled genset. use a corolla engine or a nissan efi 1.6 engine. total cost will be 1.5lacs and you will be able to use it on gas easily. use 2 acs and all other electrical appliances with ease.

i am runing a company (not a shop) in lahore and we deal in industrial gensets - buy,sale, repair and maintain.

suggesting you the above from experience.

I don't have experience with them but my neighbour in back street is using locally assembled gas gen.It starts every time with 1st or 2nd crank.it never refused to start.Another house in my street have bought locally assembled gas gen 2 days ago which is also very good.i think they have bought it from A.r.s power solutions.

I have used KOHLER model RES-18 (3years & 3400 hrs). My experience is follows;

• all ok till 2000 hrs.
• cam drive gear broke at 2000 hrs due to stuck valve.
• Resurfacing of heads and new valves.
• smoke on starting
• at 3000 hrs started missing
• started consuming oil
• 1 cylinder plug wet with oil.

Lesson learnt;

• Use only synthetic oil.
• change @ 100 hrs with filter.
• dont trust the technicians. get involved.
• DIY maintanance.

its a 13.5 kw, going strong at 400 hrs
I am maintaining it myself

If you are talking about running generator on sui gas which is for "residential purposes" and on residential tariff; then it is I suppose "ILLEGAL." I don't know why mods are even allowing this topic on an open forum.

Technical answer to your questions is kVA capacity requirement of an ac is more dependent upon its compressor motor starting current rather than on the continuous load current. I hope you have got the hint.

I want to run 2 x 1.5 ton A/C. What are the options available? I have seen Loncin and Aurora 9.5kva models but some dealers say they can run 2 a/c but some say they can't. Has anyone had an experience with these generators and the load? Of course I will be running it on Gas.
In my personal experience, I have a Loncin 6.5kva generator and I can run 2 x 1.5 ton a/c on petrol but not on gas. To run 2 a/c I have to turn every other thing else off. In my personal opinion 9.5kva generator should run 2 a/c and other load on gas.
